Ah, now we're getting somewhere. Are you speaking of a circuit board that has a micro switch on it, and possibly some LED lights? The micro switch would go right under the Power On button. This would be called a Power Board, but is not essentially anything to do with providing, or converting power. Just has the Power On switch, (Micro switch), maybe LED lights, and a couple of connections. Was the original problem that the laptop didn't turn on, and you thought the Power On switch was bad?

Understandable Jay, and I commend you for your valiant effort. Where did this power circuit board come from, and what area in the laptop is it hooked up to? Is it connected to the DC Power Jack area on the motherboard? (DC-IN - DC Power Jack) What voltage is this power board putting out, and what voltage is coming in? Is the voltage, line voltage from your house? 110 or 220 volts? Or is the power board hooked up to the AC adapter? Were you able to download the PDF Service Manual for the Dell Latitude L100? Here is the Service Manual again. This time I managed not to foul up, and all you have to do is left-click on the link. After you click on the link you may not see anything happening for up to 30 seconds. The file should be downloading in the background. Watch the download progress bar, and let the file download all the way, before looking attempting to look through it. The file automatically opens, with the Bookmarks menu showing to the left side. Scroll the menu down until you see the heading - Bottom Assembly. Left-click on the + sign to the left of Bottom Assembly. (Or go to Page 26) Now scroll down to Page 33. Looking at the motherboard (System Board) in the illustration, can you give me a general area where you attached this Power Board?http://www.notebook-manuals.com/laptop-m... Here let's try it again with a better view using photos. After this PDF Service manual downloads, go to Page 54. Use the Zoom In, to enlarge the view. (+ sign at top)http://www.notebook-manuals.com/manuals/... Left-click on the green - Download DELL Latitiude L100 laptop manual, at the bottom/middle of the page.

To expound upon that last series of statements. It makes a difference, if we are talking about a supposed power module/power circuit board, or an AC adapter which converts Ac electricity to DC electricity, and at the right Voltage, and Amperage.

????? With all due respect, and not wishing to incur your wrath Jay, I don't seem to find a power board, (Circuit Board), nor power module, for the Dell Latitude L100 in my Service Manual.http://www.notebook-manuals.com/laptop-m... Nor do I recall there being one. The DC Power Jack, (DC-IN), is soldered directly to the motherboard, and there is no cable leading from the DC Power Jack, (DC-IN), to a Power Module, nor power circuit board, and back to the motherboard. Granted I am getting on in years. May I ask where this is located? May I also ask how, and where you obtained it? Did you use Dell's automatic System Configuration Tool, and entered the Service Tag? Or is this a reference to an AC adapter? (Charger) Not trying to seem argumentative here, but we both have to be 'On the same page'.

Whoa, just a second there Jay. Are we talking about a Dell Desktop PC, or a laptop? Powerboard printed circuit board, and charger? The power supply tester I linked, is for a desktop computer's power supply. What is the computer manufacturer name, (Dell?), Model Name, and Model Number?

Yes, bad Power Supply. The Power On light, and the Harddrive activity light flash like that when they are indicating diagnostics. The diagnostic code is Bad Power Supply. You have a weak voltage power rail, in the power supply. You have enough power to turn on lights, maybe spin the fans a few times before they stop, BUT not enough power to turn the Processor on. (Not shouting) Information: 1) ALL the lights use less than 1 Watt of power. 2) EACH fan uses 2 to 3 Watts. (When they are spinning) 3) A typical Processor uses 55 to 125 WATTS. (Depends on what Processor it is, as to how much Wattage it uses) Replace the Power Supply, clean the inside of the computer out. Want to test the Power Supply to see if it is bad? The easiest way is to use a computer power supply tester. I recommend an Ultra power supply tester. (About $12 bucks)http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/... You have to jump the Soft Power On of the power supply, to turn it on. want to know more? State so in a Comment. (Believe upper right corner of your page)

You're very welcome Jay, but so far I'm just asking questions, we're not out of the 'Deep End' yet. I also apologize for not catching, that it could have been that circuit board that has the Power On switch, and LED lights, as this is a usual design for most laptops. Just not a name used with all of them. My mind went to power TO the laptop, incorporating some sort of PCB, and not a PCB with a Power On switch. Yeah I know. Excuses, excuses, ha! (There are three LED lights on that power board. The Num Lock LED all the way to the left. The Caps Lock LED in the middle, and the Scroll Lock LED all the way to the right) To start anew. So I am to understand that you pressed the Power On button one day, and the laptop didn't come on, and there were two lights flashing in the front? Would this have been the Power On LED (Light) all the way to the Left side, and the Battery Indicator LED, all the way to the Right side? Also would like to know. (All electrical sources removed. Battery and AC adapter {Charger) With the AC adapter's plug inserted into the DC Power Jack on the laptop {DC-IN}, can you wiggle the plug, and it feels as though the DC Power Jack is loose? Before you have tried powering on the laptop, have you made sure the battery is charged up all the way? Using at least three hours, or more, to charge the battery? Is the laptop dirty inside? This can be viewed through the Air Intake Duct, with a flashlight. (Round air vent on the bottom of the laptop. Below the Battery Bay, and towards the back right corner) Also would like to know if that power board has wires with a connector, or has a flat Flex cable with a connector. (Flex cable is a thin, flat, ribbon. Has several wires that are side by side, and are coated with insulation, and installed in one flat ribbon) Could be a problem with the connector of that flat Flex cable, if so. Not making a good contact, and/or not keeping a good contact. Could be a problem with the DC Power Jack being broken, or it's solder joints to the motherboard are cracked, and not making a good contact. Could be the battery charging circuit, and it is faulty. (Sensor circuit to sense when the battery needs a trickle charge, and/or the laptop is going to run strictly off of the AC adapter, or strictly off of the battery) Got to climb the mountain one step, at a time. Can't jump over it.

Can you hear the hard drive spinning? Can you see or hear any fans working?

It may be that the power on your pc has stopped working Try a new lead into the pc first as it may be the cable..

Did anything happen with the pc prior to this happening? Did you install any new hardware? How old is the pc? Have you a graphic card in there?

AEG Lavamat E1050 End light blinks 5 times.

Check your exit hose spigot, it may be clogged. This is if your filter is all clean(ref manual). There should be air for passage in the standpipe behind. Your hose should not fit airtight into the standpipe and neither too deep into it. Snaking out your standpipe would be good too.

Rate me pl.....if helped. Click on 'thanks for trying' if not helped, your prob will be back for someone else to solve.
(Companies just want you to dump the machine & buy another, its keeps them in business)
