You have no choice but to restore it and erase all your music, but if you have your music stored on your computer with iTunes, why is this a problem? All you have to do is re-sync your music back onto your iPod after it's restored.

Sorry but there are no other options but to erase it and sync again or you can try this method only if you activated Disk mode on your nano.

download sharepod from the link below and install it on your computer, connect your nano to your computer and when Itunes openimmediately close it.
now run sharepod and it should be able to find your ipod, you can copy the music to a folder on your computer.

sharepod: http://www.getsharepod.com/ or you can also download

PodToPc: http://www.podtopc.com/

Good Luck.

Apple ipod nano 4GB silver model no A1236 i forgot the password and i forgot the password

Hi tomasi cava...

If you have forgotten the code, you can unlock the IPod by doing the following:
Connect your IPod to the primary computer you use it with (the first one IPod synced with), and open iTunes.
When you disconnect iPod from the computer, it will no longer be locked.
If you can't unlock IPod using either [the code or connecting it to the computer you use to manage its songs]. . . you can restore your iPod to factory settings using iPod Updater. Please note that this will erase all data on your iPod.
Afterwards, you can add your music and data back to your iPod.
If you want to change the primary computer that your IPod is associated with, do this:
1. Restore your iPod. WARNING: The restore process cannot be undone.
All of your songs and files will be deleted. Always make a backup of your important data.
2. Connect your iPod to the computer that you want to be the primary computer.
3. Open iTunes and synchronize.
If you can't unlock your iPod and you don't have access to the primary computer, your only option is to restore the IPod, which will erase all music and data."
Please take time to rate me thumbs up.

IM SORRY 1st of all but...

I locked my i pod nano i forgot the code how can i unlock it.

Unfortunately the only way to reset a lost code is to hook it to a computer with iTunes on it, go into itunes and click on the ipod on the left hand side. There will be a RESTORE button / option. Do this and it will erase the code and reset all the options. Unfortunately it will also erase all of the music on the device, but when you resync the ipod all of the music will come right back.

Thanks
Tim

What do i do if i forgot my 4 digit combonation for my ipod

You could try doing a RESTORE from your ITUNES menu. This will restore the factory settings but erase all your music. You can then sync your IPOD from Itunes and retrieve it all.

This is a guess on my part...but it should work.

There are basically three ways to unlock the Screen Lock on your iPod:
  1. The most obvious and will not work for most people . Simply enter the 4 digit combination/pass code at Extras > Screen Lock.
  2. Connect your iPod to the first computer it was synced with or the computer set as the primary one in iTunes. Open the iTunes application, then disconnect your iPod from the computer, and it should no longer be locked.
  3. The next line number 4 is very effective....note this (it will delete-erase-zapped all files)
  4. Use this final way only if the first two options do not work for you because it is a destructive process.
Everything on your iPod will be erased.
This should not be a problem if you have all of your songs, videos, and other media stored in iTunes and you can synchronize once again after getting the iPod unlocked. Besides, if you don’t unlock your iPod it’s useless right? Learn how to Restore your iPod using the instructions from Apple’s site.
5. Hope this is helpful

My Ipod is locked and my son forgot the code. How do I unlock it? It's an ipod nano A1236 and i have already tried a lot of codes and it dosen't work.

If you forgot your passcode for your Nano, then you will have to do a restore on your Nano which you'll have to do via iTunes; which will erase all data on your Nano, and restore all settings to factory default.
There is no other way to recover your passcode if you forgot it.
Once you run a recovery via iTunes you can re-add your music, etc.
