GE Microwave Spacemaker2. The toouch screen does not respond

could use a little more detail.
when u have no display screen the solutions are. possible causes * A fuse in your home may be blown or the circuit breaker tripped. A. Replace fuse or reset circuit breaker
* Power surge. A. Unplug the microwave oven, then plug it back in.
* Plug not fully inserted into wall outlet A. Make sure the 3-prong plug on the oven is fully inserted into wall outlet.
* Door not securely closed. A. Open the door and close securely.

Is there a 90 degree power cord available

yes, i buy them at home depot, they are a bit rare, 90 degree extenision cords. usually they only carry one type. you can wire it into your microwave, or use as extension cord. this is good for tight spaces, like beside bed or wall.it is also safer rather than pressing on plug to wall.

Blows the powerstrip

Hello. I can help you. Let me review some info. about microwaves.

First of all, a microwave requires a lot of power. Most microwaves must have their own circuit to work well for a long time. Do not use any powerstrip or other extension cord, always plug a microwave directly into the wall.

The problems you are having are most likely due to your powerstrip than to your home wiring.

Plug your microwave directly into the wall and use it. If it works then discard the powerstrip as it is a fire hazard. get back and let me know how u make out.

Replace OTR Microwave

Thanks for responding. It is a EWave KOT-152UW. I think EWave is part of Magic Chef. I think it is the door switch. When I opened the microwave, the circuit breaker tripped. I reset the circuit breaker, and it worked for several days, but the last time, the microwave went dead. The reason I want to use the same bracket is it has through the wall (horizontal) venting to the outside, and I am not keen on trying to cut more holes.

NO POWER, POPPED CIRCUIT

Two possible causes.

First (and most likely) the circuit is being overloaded. This kitchen circuit may be shared with another appliance (like the refrigerator) which is drawing enough power when both are running to trip the breaker. A Typical kitchen circuit is 20 amp with #12 wiring. So an 1800 watt microwave might draw 13 or 14 amps while a fridge compressor kicking in can surpass 7 amps before it levels off. If this is an older home the kitchen may have a 15 amp circuit with #14 wiring. If the circuit is a 20 amp you will have to split the appliances onto separate circuits. (Under code a kitchen must have a minimum of 2 separate appliance circuits). If it is a 15 amp you might be able to split them as well or may be looking up upgrading the breaker and the wiring from 15amp #14 to 20 amp #12 (but you could still have the same problem).

The other possibility is a short or loose connection. If splitting appliances onto their own circuits doesn't fix this you would probably want an electrician to come in and check for other underlying causes which could represent a fire hazard.

Hope this helps.

Microwave dead

First, there is an outlet. Plug in something else. Inside the key panel, there are fuses and a thermo sensor. Either may be bad. The thermosensor is about the diameter of a dime, black and 3/8 inch thick...attached to the wall of the chamber. All should have continuity.
