Open Question

Calibrating Touchscreen I cannot exit the calibration mode. It just keeps going over and over from one bullseye to the next.

    A hard reset solved this problem until finally after two months my screen froze and even a hard reset won't cure the problem. My PDA was less than 90 days old when the touchscreen started needing recalibration frequently. A simple reset solved the problem early on, but then it became necessary to use a hard reset. Now nothing works. It is dead: The unit has been well charged and even with the charger plugged in all I get is the Preferences\ date & Time screen. When I touch "Done" Nothing Happens. When I do a hard or soft reset it returns to the same frozen screen

BOTTOM OF SCREEN NOT WORKING,

This happens a lot with Palm digitizers. The only permanent solution is replace the plastic digitizer with an upgraded glass type. Before considering that, see if removing screen protector helps. (yeah, didn't think so. Worth a try!) Try Powerdigi, a better calibration program. Get it from http://www.palmpowerups.com
It worked for me.

My touchscreen wont work on my 655 I believe

did you try calibrating the screen.if it doesn't work when you try to calibrate it then it looks like the touch screen is bad and you will have to replace it.even if the touch is bad the video should still come through.go to pref= use the directional keys to to the top. you should see a blue rectangle are the date and time.click the center button and go to touch screen to calibrate it.if it won't let you touch it then the screen is bad. if you have any more questions please email me at gaecmrazy944@yahoo.com

Problem dell x50v {align screen}

A problem I have seen countless times on the DELL pocket PCs. Check the corners of where the touchscreen go UNDERNEATH the plastic housing. Sometimes when dust or debris collect here, your touchscreen has a difficult time calibrating.

Cant use stylus.

Unscrew the 4 torx screws on the back and remove the cover carefully.
Unplug the battery for 30 seconds. plug it back in and re- assemble the unit. Once it comes back on it will give you the chance to re calibrate the digitizer ( or you can now select it from the prefs menu)
If the touchscreen fails to repsond you will need a new digitizer.
You can purchase it from :

Try to calibrate the touch screen. Also clean it with a soft cloth. But calibrating it should help the film when you tap the screen.

Calibration of my MobilePro off

We've put together some useful tips on calibrating your MobilePro * When calibrating your touch screen be sure to use the same amount of pressure that you apply during normal use. In general, the lighter the better. This allows the screen to recognize taps consistently. * When calibrating your touch screen hold the stylus over the calibration point until it moves to the next point. Holding it for this period will lead to greater accuracy than just tapping the spot quickly. * When calibrating your touch screen support the screen from the back with your other hand. Try not to grasp the screen from the side with your thumb on the front. * When calibrating your touch screen do not let anything other that the stylus accidentally touch the screen. For example, don't rest part of your hand on the screen to help steady the stylus. * Once you've completed the stylus calibration, be sure to perform the double tap calibration as well. This will ensure greater accuracy.
