Question about Samsung YP-S2 MP3 Player

5 Answers

When I plug it into the computer, a window pops up saying to choose how to open it - with the Samsung program or as a folder. If I choose the program, the window will open but it won't register that the device is plugged in, whereas if I open it like a normal folder it works fine. How can I get it back to operating in the Samsung Media Studio as it did when I first got it?

It doesn't show it listed in the options given, but I did find it on another list (Device Manager) and this is what it said about it:

Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)

Click 'Check for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available.

When I checked for updates, it claimed to be up to date, and clicking 'Check Online For Solutions' doesn't do anything. -At all.-

Having an issue with a Samsung YP-S2 pebble:
When I plug it into the computer, a window pops up saying to choose how to open it - with the Samsung program or as a folder. If I choose the program, the window will open but the portable device icon won't light up, suggesting that it won't register that the device is plugged in, whereas if I open it like a normal folder it works fine. How can I get it back to operating in the Samsung Media Studio as it did when I first got it?

I've uninstalled and re-installed it a couple of times actually, and it keeps doing the same thing; syncing it might work though, but I'm not really sure how to do that; I'm more or less new to dealing with computer and hardware-related issues..Any ideas?

  • lupinthelyca Feb 07, 2010

(Sorry for the delay in response; I got snowed in at work and the wireless there is faulty.) I found the Sync tab, but even when I plug the mp3 player into the computer, it still says 'Connect Device.' [At this point, wouldn't it just be easier to buy another? xD]

  • lupinthelyca Feb 11, 2010

It does work now as far as transferring files through the Samsung program, but it just seems determined not to work PROPERLY, because now it won't even charge unless I'm listening to a song off of it while it's connected or switching songs back and forth through it.

Try this....when you plug in your device and select
As a folder", it should appear under the "Removable Storage" section when you open "My Computer". Go to the Start Menu, and find the shortcut for the Samsung Studio and start it up. See if the program will recognize the mp3 player this way.

The other thing I would suggest is to uninstall the Media Studio and reinstall it.

Good luck.

Have you tried a different computer or even a different USB port? Since it doesn't charge through the USB, your USB port might be faulty and have nothing at all to do with the player. Also, try a different USB cord, as the cord might be faulty as well.

First run the Samsung Media Studio and then connect the device. What you are doing is connect first and then run the program. Once the device is connected to the Windows, it is difficult connecting it through Samsung Studio.

Hello,

It looks like you media studio is corrupted and as a result, not working with your device.

To solve this problem, I would suggest that you uninstall the Media Studio, then make a fresh installation.
Remember to restart your computer after installing the new copy.

Thank you for using Fixya,
Kenneth.

You need to uninstall and reinstall the software. I had one of these and I had good luck syncing it to windows media player. You may also want to try that. Good luck.

Just open media player and plug your mp3 player in to the USB port. Right next to the BURN tab in media player you will see the SYNC tab. Select the SYNC tab and tell it to start sync, iin the right hand window in media player you will be able to open your player and explore the music by folders. You can add music by going to your media player library and selecting songs then add them to the SYNC list. I never used my software with my just media player and I never had any issues with it. Good luck.

Windows-based PCs b> Plug your iPod into your computer to open iTunes; if it doesn't automatically open, open it manually. A window will pop up on your computer asking you if you want to sync the contents of your iPod with the contents of your iTunes library. Click cancel. In the iTunes source list, choose the iPod, and make sure that you have selected the Summary tab in iTunes' main window. Open up the My Computer icon from either your desktop or the Start menu, and select your iPod from the window. In the My Computer window, open up the Tool menu and click on Folder Options. This will open up another window. Choose the View tab, and find the heading for Hidden Files and Folders. Click on the button that says "Show Hidden Files and Folders," then click the "Apply" button at the bottom of the Window. Close the Folder Options window. Find the iPod's icon on the desktop and double-click it. This will open more folders in the iPod window. Find the folder called iPod_control and double-click it. I have the cable to download pics to my computer but can't find the software that came with it. Where can i get the software. Thankd

Hi! You may not necessarily need specific software to copy pictures from your phone to your PC.

- Using the USB cable, plug it into the phone and then plug the USB end into your computer.
- Your PC should run and automatically detect the phone and a pop-up window should open asking you what you would like to do with this new hardware.
- Your choices should be something like: "Open with Windows Explorer", "Open using Windows Media Player", "Take no Action", etc.
- Use the windows explorer options and your computer shoudl automatically open the folders contained in your phone.
- In one of the folders, you should find your pictures.
- To copy all of the pictures, click on one of the pictures then hold the CTRL key and press the "A" key on your keyboard (CTRL + A). All the pics should be highlighted now.
- Now using your mouse, copy the pics (right-click, choose copy)
- Navaigate back to your PC and find a folder to save your pictures, then right-click in that folder and choose PASTE.
- Your pics should now be saved on your PC.

If you do not receive a pop-up with actions listed (as mentioned above), then open up "My Computer" and look for the phone listed under the My Computer window. Double-click on it and the folders on your phone should open. Follow the steps above beginning at step 5. Thanks!

I want to transfer 525 pictures stored on my computer to a memory stick. how do I do this?

Plug the memory stick into the computer and format it. Unplug it then plug it back into the computer, you should have a pop up that asks you what you want to do (open folder view, play and a few other options), you weant to choose Open a Folder View.

You should now have a window open that you can put files into, if not then go to "My Computer" and select it from the available drives.

Now open up the folder with your pictures in it and select all the pictures you want to transfer then press "copy". Go to the memory sticks folder and right click and select "paste" from the right click menu or hit "CTRL+V".

You will get a progress pop up that shows how long the file transfer will take, after it is done...so are you.

If the memory stick is not recognized when plugged in, you way need to load the software that came with the memory stick for its drivers.

Samsung K3 mp3 player

To erase a music file, you must plug the K3 into the computer, and when a window pops up that says "Open in Folder", "Open with Media Player", etc. Choose "Open in Folder" then go to "Internal Storage", then choose "Music". From there, you can delete by artist, or if you click on a folder that has an artist's name for the title, you can erase by album. From there you can erase by track by double clicking on an album folder.
To erase, right click the folder you wish to delete, and select "Delete".
