You have probably inadvertently cancelled no answer call forward at the extension in question. You will need to know the port numbers for your voicemail but if you watch this video it will show you how to reset the call forward. There are plenty more handy tips for Samsung telephone systems at

How do I change the greeting for store hours

I am assuming that you are referring to the Voice Mail greeting on the Samsung Prostar, if this is the case then enter the Voice Mail box via the button, enter your password and then listen to the prompts which will usually be set to; press 0 then 5 then 7. remember to delete the original greeting and record the new, other wise they will play together. I have posted a video to help you, Other training videos are on YouTube search abbeytel ot visit www.abbeytelecom.com

Samsung Prostar 816

To change the ringing on a prostar 816 you first need to be at a display set (doesn't matter what the extension number is).
with the handset down enter #20 the screen should say MMC DISABLED
1) enter in 1 2 3 4 1 # (that enables programming)
2) enter in #62 the screen should say day ring assn
3) press the line you wish to program
4) press the buttons for the extensions that you wish to ring (the ones in the right next to the handset)
5) press # when finished with the line
6) repeat steps 2 through 5 for the remainder of the lines you wish to change
The code for hold recall is #52
enter in your hold recall time in sec. and in a 3 digit format. i.e. 30 seconds = 030 a minute and a half is 090 and so on.
press # when finished

it sounds like the memory battery on the main board is no longer working which means that it'll happen again.

Some of the buttons don't work and the Hold function doesn't work

The Prostar 816 phone system can only use Prostar 816 phones. There is a rare larger Prostar system that can use other Prostar phones along with the 816 but typically was only installed in situations where more than 16 phones were needed. If you are looking at non-prostar phones like the Samsung DCS 12 then they certainly will not work.
