Question about Philips Televison & Video

1 Answer

Ihave a Philips 50PL9126D tv and I just replaced the lamp because the picture was very dark. I can see the picture but it is still somewhat dark, bright in the middle, dark at the edges. I tried to adjust contrast, brightness but nothing works. Any ideas?

I have OSRAM69374 as replacement. It has just P22 next to it. If this is incorrect do you correct model #? Thanks Jeff

Sounds like you may have the wrong lamp. Make sure you purchased a Philips lamp that's 100% compatible with your television model. Philips pioneered that lamp, so naturally they make 100 different types for DLPs and LCD projections.

You may have an elliptical lamp instead of parabolic. The lamp for your TV should read P22h.

An Osram should be compatible, but the best lamp for your TV is a Philips UHP lamp at 100/120W. You should either get a replacement, or make sure it's not your ballast that's going out on you. I can't stress the importance of a Philips lamp over Osram though.

Hello
If the lamp replacement light comes on, surely there will be issue with the lamps; and should be replaced. But the flikereing of colurs will have an other probelm with video card. Chroma section may be some fault with it. Just check the antena if your are using and seeing on-air programme. If you are using cable, check the socket ottection at the backe of the tv for firmness. If connections have some loose contact, or not well tight up, colour flikering will occur. If all the connections are OK and just replace the lamps and see the effect. If this does not help you , replace the chroma card. Consult nearest philips service center for replacement. For lams alos, replace it with original ones from Philips. OK.

Sounds like your lamp is bad. I think this is the set where you have to take the whole back off to replace the lamp. Once you take the back off, its on the left hand side.
