My country use the 220 volts system do have to use a step down transformer of plug it in direct.it has been a year i have not used the appliance having no information on wattage

If your microwave is wired for 220 volts AC and your country standard house current is 220, and the plug is of the proper configuration, plug it in.

Standard microwave size is around 1100 watts at 110 volts Normally, two times the voltage is 1/2 the wattage. Ohms law, Voltares Law and Watts Law apply.

If your microwave is 1100 watts at 110 volts --- yes you will need a step- down transformer of some type.

MIcrowave emits an electrical smell while cooking. It still cooks, but has started emitting an odor recently when in use.

Is the smell ionized (the outside smell of a cold winter morning air) or more of an electronic component burning??? if it's more of an ionized smell it could be normal, (if the smell is strong) it could be a leaking high voltage cable (electric arching) bad insulator, if it's more of an electronic component burning smell, it could be a overheating component, in both cases you should have it checked by a professional technician...

Cheers!

If you are lucky it may have taken out the fuses if not you may be looking at a replacement control board.

What will the size wire will i need to wire up to consumer unit

It depends on if you are running a 220 or 110 volt supply. Assuming that your supply is 110 volt and your microwave draws about 2000 watts, that would mean that you need a wire with a cross section of about 2.5 sq, mm to allow a safety margin. If your mains are 220 volts you can use 2 sq mm or a little less - say 1.5 sq mm to be on the safe side. (On 220 volts a microwave draws aprox. 2 amps for every 200 wats output and 1 sq mm wire can carry 10 amps - as a rule of thumb. At 110 volts these figures are roughly double).

May I use a 13 amp extension cord with the 700 W oven?

At 110 volts 700 watts equates to 6.4 amps, at 220 volts is is 3.2 amps - no problem!

Stove and broiler does not heat up. Haven't been able to cook

first you need to check your breaker, turn it off and back on,, if that doesnt work you need to check the volts in the plug and where the plug screws on to the stove, it should have 220 volts or 110 per side,, if it has the 220 volts(if it has the eletronic control pad) the board could be bad, (if it has the knob thermostat ) it could be the thermostat,, is the cook top working? if it is it sounds like a power issue, 110volts runs the top the other 110 volts runs the oven

How can i convert our 220 volts wall outlet to 110 volts for a microwave oven.

Find the breaker for it (a double for 220) and substitue a single breaker (for 110). This will leave one wire unused from the breaker box to the outlet. You'll have to change the outlet of course to accommodate a normal 110 plug. You can also skip the breaker part and just change the outlet and cap off 1 of the hot wires. Just make sure to kill the power and be safe!

How to convert electricity from 110 to 220 volts for my SHARPE Microwave oven

Ah, the problem of the ages. There are 2 solutions. One is a transformer of the proper size, and the second is to purchase a heavy duty battery charger (that runs on 220 volts). Connect the red and black (+ and -) wires to a 12v to 110v voltage inverter, similar to what you would plug into a 12v auto 'cigarette lighter' socket to produce 110v current from a car battery. The charger turns the 220 vac to 12 vdc, and the inverter turns the 12 vdc into 110 vac. This works, as it is what I did when I moved from the US to England.

Microvave will not heat

Same problem others have reported.

To test this you need to see if you have 110 volts on the primary of the heat transformer. You likely do not.
You then have to find out why. It could be a relay or a bad timer.
