Perfectly normal. as the iphone is a super-powerful smartphone. also it depends on wich application you are using. 3d games, 3g wireless internet and the PUSH notifications, generally contribute to drain the battery's life. to enlarge you battery's duration i would recommend to disable the push notifications, or at least give them a longer refresh delay. also, it would help if you install a battery monitiring application and lock the phone immediatly after use. the drawback is that you wil hae to manually check you e-mails and other things that depends on the push notifications.

Replaced battery now there is zero juice

Don't assume that a new battery is ok. Personally, I've fitted a new battery to later discover that it was that new battery at fault.

However, it's quite rare ..

If your battery is discharging very quickly irrespective of whether the engine is running or the car is parked - suspect the alternator. Inside the alternator there is a rectifier pack - diodes - if this fails it can allow your battery to discharge very quickly - sometimes within a minute or two, quite literally.

If you can, disconnect the leads from the back of your alternator and charge your battery. Reconnect the battery but not the alternator. If your car starts and continues to start without the battery going flat - your alternator is at fault.

The only other fault that can cause a healthy battery to discharge is a parasitic drain - something is remaining 'live' after the engine is switched off and draining your battery power.

If you drive your car to a spares shop/auto electrician they will be able to tell you within a minute if your alternator is the problem.

Pulled battery 7 weeks ago. Re-installed battery and there is no power

Was the battery on a charger during the 7 weeks? If not then it has discharged. They all discharge even if disconnected. Charge it back up and it should be ok.

I bought a portable charger for my iphone 3gs, my battery was getting low so i put this charger in and now my phone wont switch on?

The charger may not be compatible with your iPhone and the battery on your phone may be completely discharged.

Use an OEM (Apple iPhone) charger and see if it charges your phone. Do not unplug it until it is completely charged (several hours).

Quick discharging of the Iphone 3gs battery

Yes its normal. To maintain the most power adjust your brightness bar down to 1/4 or 1/2. Keep the push mail function off when you don't need it. Don't recharge the battery until the unit shuts itself off. Then recharge the battery to max before using. This is called conditioning the battery, even though many say you don't need to on lithum ion batteries because there is no memory effect. But their full of sh.t, cause you do the first time you get the battery and should do it once a month to extend the life of the battery.
