Hi, I have no CD, and the netbook only accepts SD Cards.

In the other hand, as it is Windows CE, nothing happens when pressin F8.

    Any other ideas, please?

    Many thanks!
    Luciano.

Is your CE netbook running CE Version 6? If so I can probably help, I have instructions on how to make a recovery "disk" on an SD card. Assuming all of these Chinese 7" "netbooks" are identical, this should restore you to factory-fresh status; I've had to use my recovery card five times so far, as these netbooks frequently dump the OS. I would have to send you a docx document (zipped). Are you still out there?

    CE fan,
I'm running on version 6.0, and having the same issue. How would I go about creating a recovery disk on an SD card?

There used to be a link to a free download of the Windows CE files needed for recovery. Now the only source I know of is a site called onlynetbooks.com. She sells the download for about US$18. In my opinion it's worth that. By the way, some useful applications that will run on these CE netbooks can be found at hpcfactor.com. Some of these apps work better than others; a few don't work. They are found on the site in one download package.

Sounds like a critical file got corrupted. Explorer is basically the windows shell, without it, like you said, you won't be able to do anything. On boot, you can try F8 to get into safe mode and backup all your data. If your netbook has recovery CD's sounds like it's time to do a restore, unless you can just reinstall windows itself, that should solve the problem.

1) backup whatever files you can if needed.
2) attempted to reinstall windows if netbook CD's allow
3) all else fails, do a complete restore from netbook CD's, note, this will wipe all data from the hard drive and you'll be starting from scratch

Try to repair your windows or the operating system by means of your operating system installation disk. Afterwards re-install your web browser firefox , google chrome, etc. Hope this would help you a little bit. Have a nice day my friend.

It sounds like there is an error in your hard drive.. that means some or all of the data in your hard drive has crashed. You have to go an IT support center to get it replaced/fixed.Please reply if you have any more questions. Good luck, Cooper. (Please give a thumbs up, I do this as a summer job!)

When the computer turns on it says.... " Application explorer.exe encountered a serious error and must shut down. Just purchased the computer and it will no go pass this error message

"Application explorer.exe encountered a serious error and must shut down"means sometime in the past, someone must have installed the OS incorrectly or has deleted something vital, which is why this error is occurring. The only way to bypass this is to reinstall windows OS using the CD that was provided for you, and this error will disappear.

My Sylvania 7" netbook says;

If you have a SYNET07526, then you have a problem with loading all of your applications and it appears that I.E is a problem. You may want to re-flash your system as that is the only way you can get the full compliment of applications. See my TIP at: http://www.fixya.com/support/r7350901-fix_synet07526_wifi_flashing

You may want to go to www.digitalgadgets and see if you can find the same information.

Glad to help YOU!

Congratulations for switching to UBUNTU! It's a great operating system. You will not regret your decision.
Unfortunately WINE has limited "power" and some Windows applications will give you ERRORS or will not run at all. For a better "bridge" between LINUX SYSTEM (UBUNTU, in your case) and the Windows applications I'd suggest you to find/buy CROSSOVER. Here you have the info about HOW TO.

As for the Zombie process - it's just a "leftover" of an application running. Nothing serious. Read here.

GOOD LUCK!

That is a counterfeit pc
Windows NEVER says this.
It will say:
Windows explorer has encounted a error.
Your system will shut down in 20 Seconds.
