Question about Karcher PSI Electric Pressure Washer
The pump motor runs continuously all the time the device is powered on. When new it only ran when there was water flow, ie the trigger was pulled and the washer in use. Then it started to ''pulse'' when not in use, ie the motor ran for half a second every two seconds. It's a K 4.99 M - that wasn't listed so I had to choose the nearest item in the list

Leaving the hose on shouldn't cause a problem so don't panic. It sounds like you could just have a dirty nozzle. Try sticking a pin or something in the end of the nozzle (machine not running) and giving it a clear out. also if it is a two peice gun, split it and tap the squirting part on something clean like a workbench to clear any debris that might have got in there.

SOURCE: Kracher k3 97, low pressure
your pressure relief valve is stuck open. try adjusting the nut shaped stem on the front of the valve to see if you can unstick it. if not you'll have to take apart and clean.

Hi, I had the same problem, Replaced the O rings and the rubber seals and cups inside the pressure washer and eventually the hose itself burst. Turns out the hose was leaking, internally between the inner sheath and the outside plastic cover, for quite some time and this caused the pulse. New hose and pressure cleaner is as good as new.

Pressure washers have a pressure regulator/unloader that bypasses the water back into the intake when you let go of the trigger with motor running. If you let the machine run for long preiods in bypass the system could be damaged due to heating of the water being bypassed. The water is in a closed loop. The as the unloader wears it will tend to want to bypass which is what is happening in your case. Dirt trapped at the tip will cause this also. Install clean tip to solve problem. If clean tip did not help then try lowering the pressure by turning pressure regulator counterclock wise. If problem is gone then parts are failing but keep using pump. Good luck.
