Poor audio with Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000

Hello. Both my niece and I have bought this webcam. We can see each other OK, but the sound is dreadful. Our voices either stick, crackle, repeat themselves about half a dozen times and there is also an echo. This poor sound quality is happening down both computers/webcams. Can you suggest what we could do to fix this. Thanks

    Hello
We have both uninstalled and reinstalled our webcams and have searched through the FAQs for solutions with no success. We are using both SKYPE and Windows Live Messenger and both have the same problems - crackling, speech repeating and repeating itself very quickly etc. Again, we've explored all the settings in both programs. We're just not sure what to do now! We both connect wirelessly through BT Home Hubs and our broadband speeds say 54 Mps. Can you suggest anything else please. Thank you

    Hello
We both connect wirelessly through BT Home Hubs and our broadband speeds register at 54 Mps. Video quality is very variable as well with us looking quite pixalated at times. It's the sound issues that are our biggest problem though. Can you suggest anything else. Thank you

Hi. My internet connection is 2.43Mb and my nieces is "17,268 kbits/sec - (16.86Mb) - (2,158 KBytes/sec)". We both are signed up with BT who promise up to 8Mb, but when we did a check we had these very different results and we certainly don't understand the very high speed of my nieces. Any thoughts how this might affect the webcam performance? thanks

Try using the "Audio tuning wizard" in MSN Messenger and select the correct input devices. If you are having trouble with the built-in microphone of the camera, plug a external microphone in the sound card and select the sound card in the audio wizard.

You may reinstall the driver, use the utility to adjust volume.

Also each program using VoIP comes with voice setup. For example in Yahoo there is Wizard to adjust microphone settings

Please let me know what kind of program you are using to use voice chat? Are you getting crackling sound from other party too?

Hi,

What type of internet connection do you have and also at what speed? How is the video quality?

What is the actual speed of your internet connection (not the speed you have with your router)?

Did you try lowering the quality of the video broadcast?

I have a webcam but i don't have a cd installer, my webcam specification was LOGITECH M/N:V-UBM46, PID;LZ906BP, P/N 860--000109.. i do hope you can help me thanks....

The P/N will let you find the camera software for the 860-000109 here: http://support.logitech.com/en_us/article/3428?product=a0qi00000069v1bAAA . This part number is for the QuickCam Pro 9000 or the WebCam Pro 9000. Based on the model number, V-UBM46, you have the QuickCam Pro 9000. Scroll down to find the correct software for the operating system on your computer. The QuickCam Pro 9000 can be used with the LWS (Logitech Webcam Software) versions 1.1, 2.31, 2.51 and 2.80. LWS 2.51 and LWS 2.80 do not support the Video Effects. LWS 2.80 works with Windows 8 and 10 and the direct link to the program installer is http://www.logitech.com/pub/video/lws/lws280.exe . Links to all versions of LWS are at the bottom of the second chart. Additional information and FAQs are available here: http://support.logitech.com/en_us/product/quickcam-pro-9000 .

I hope this helps.

Hello!
First uninstall any WebCam software that you have. To do this unplug your camera from the USB, go to Control Panel > Programs and Feature. Next, download the full installer (select from the drop down list) for your camera and install it. The setup will guide you trough the process and eventually will ask you to plug the camera back in.
Good luck

It is possible your webcam is either disabled or the driver is corrupted. Try reloading the webcam software driver, reboot, and then try the free webcam test tool to check if it is working properly.

Normal 0 You need to go to the manufactures site and download the VISTA driver for the camera. Then follow the info below to install the program.

Disconnect the Camera from the USB port and reinstall the CD or Downloaded software program. When the program asks you to connect the camera to the USB port, do so and it should work.

Logitech states its 9000 hardware & software is Windows only
