Before printing, the printer checks the paper size. If the paper edge guide is positioned incorrectly, the paper may be fed at an angle. If this happens, the bottom of the paper is therefore at an angle and not perpendicular with the paper feed rollers. This can result in the paper sensor not recognising the real page width as it can only detect a certain amount of the bottom of the paper sheet which is nearest to it.

If only part of the width of the paper is detected, the printer considers that the paper width is less than it actually is. To avoid printing on internal parts of the printer such as paper feed rollers, the printer automatically cuts the image to fit the detected paper width As this phenomenon depends on the paper feeding condition, it can be random.
Reload the paper and make sure it is loaded correctly. All the way to the right and the paper guide correctly adjusted.

Printer only prints top half of page when printing a page from Microsoft WORD. I have disconnected and reconnected all the cables. What next?

Sounds like a printer driver problem, Information comes from the dynamic link libary DLL for short, if your driver is damaged it will not communicate with the DLL, try reinstalling the driver and sofware.

Printer problem

Look at the printer, it has a brand and model. Go the the manufactures website, and under support look for downloads. There should be a way to look up your downloads by model number. Once found you are looking for drivers. Download and install the drivers that match your Operating system. I suspect this is a print driver issue. With out a brand and model number my instructions can not be more complete.

When I send my job to the printer. The printer will print but only on 1/2 of the page. it looks like the printer think i want two sheets on one page

Hello,

Is the whole page you want printed on half the page is just half the data printed? If the whole page is printed on half the paper then the problem is software. If the page only prints the left side or the right side blank on the other side then the problem is most likely the fuser assembly. Can you take a picture of the page and email it to us, we will email you back with what needs to be done next.
