Question about Casio Exilim EX-Z750 Digital Camera

1 Answer

The problem that recently occoured is that the camera says "the card is locked" then turning it on. also, you can preview pictures, but you can't edit them on the camera. i tried to make photos without SD, and ir worked, but however with the memory of this camera only 3 photos can be made. the SD card works fluently when putting it on PC.

SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position nearest the contacts unlocks them, the position farthest from the contacts locks them, protecting them from writes. If the switch is already in the correct position, try sliding it fully away from the contacts and then back toward them.

If that doesn't work, try a different card.

Protected momery card

If you did not remove the memory card before, it could be there is a bad contact on the memory card or in the camera. It also could mean your card is full. (you should delete some pictures) First put the pictures on the computer or another memory, like external hard drive, or somewhere in the cloud.
If you recently had your memory card out, it could be you accidentally switched it to lock. See the picture how the switch on the SD card should be. The 64GB card is unlocked, the 32GB card is locked. Make sure your switch is up like on the picture.58575d9b-f54f-431e-b178-18861b326f77.jpg

Not working on preview

did you save the pictures into the card and not the cameras memory?

If you plug the card into your pc with a card reader you can have a look inside and also there are file recovery programs available if the card has gotten corrupt but the pictures where saved in it so it can be saved. but if no pictures are saved into the card then tehre is noting to recover,

Does the menu in the camera work?
You may need to activate some Postview function in the menu. If the camera takes pictures, you should be able to view them in playback mode. There could also be a Preview mode, which requires pressing OK before storing pictures. Preview/Postview should cancel each other though...

A630 clicks and wont take picture. Stays in preview mode.

Do you mean you are expecting it to show the photo that you just took for a few seconds before it goes back to preview mode? There's a menu setting which I think is called "Picture Review" and you can set it for something like 0, 2 seconds, 5 seconds, something like that.

I hope that was it.

Be sure that the Lock switch on the memory card in your camera is set to unlock. If it is unlocked then try and see if you can reformat the card with the camera.

Memory card malfunction...

If the photos are important the first thing you want to do is get a memory card reader and use it to get the pictures off the card. A SD card reader can be found for about $5 bucks online and it will let you simply COPY and paste the pictures onto a folder on your computer. Make sure you COPY and not CUT because in case something goes wrong during the transfer you won't lose your precious photos.

It is possible that the camera driver is corrupted or deleted on your computer. Honestly it is not worth the hassle to deal with the camera drivers... it is much easier (and faster) to transfer the photos using a card reader.
