hello noni calipes, To enable PIP on Samsung series 5 its easy. But you should know Samsung spec first (read the manual book). PIP can be enabled if : 1. Input must be higherorequalto componen. (Componen, PC , HDMI) 2. PIP only displayed inputs as the primary and RF and AV (SD) as secondary. 3. PIP on Samsung 530 can not swapped. 4. The higher inputs will displayed as primary. If any questions , call samsung cervice center or you can read manual book. I hope help you. Thanks.
PiP for your TV works between two different sources. This means between a component source and an HDMI source or between an HDMI source and another HDMI source. PiP also works with a PC connection, e.g. when using the TV as a computer display. PiP does not work between two component sources. The setting will be grayed out when you don't have a configuration that is supported, as the Samsung TV's are usually able to automatically detect which sources are plugged in and available.
I'm not exactly sure what sort of configuration you want your PiP to work in, but try one of the following configurations.
TV Cable (through VCR or other via Component input) with Satellite in PiP (via HDMI input)
PS3 (via HDMI Input) with Satellite in PiP (via Component Input)
Wii via HDMI Input) with PS3 in PiP (via HDMI Input)
You can usually find an HDMI cable for much cheaper at an electronics supplies shop, Radio Shack, or on eBay or Gumtree. To change your PiP settings:
Press the MENU button on the remote control. Select Picture and press Enter.
Select PIP and press Enter.
Press the enter button again, and press up or down to change the setting to On and press enter again. Note: If PIP is activated the screen will display in widescreen (16:9 aspect ratio.)
Press the up or down buttons to select the Source then press the Enter button. Select the source of the sub-picture by pressing the up and down arrows and then pressing the Enter button. Note: The sub-picture can serve different source selections based on the what the main source is set to. Note: You may notice that the picture in the PIP window becomes slightly unnatural when you use the main screen to view a game or karaoke.
If you know how to let it work with an LCD or DLP projector then all you have to do is set the selector of the your LCD TV to the RGB or computer input. If not, then you have to hit the function key in order to activate the secondary port for the external display of your laptop.
Using a monitor 1..connect computer/media center to your monitor, 2 click on nvidia nview display settings, 3, select the current display tab and samsung, 4 then apply, 5,then when the confirmation box appears click yes within 15 seconds.
Using your samsung. Attach a scart to your media centre, from your t.v with the p.c cable still attached, turn over using the source button until you can see a pc picture on your screen (EXT1or2), do steps 2 & 3 THEN move your cursor to the apply button (do not move the cursor from this position), press your source button till you get PC channel (which has no picture yet) then press your mouse button to apply, ( your picture will flicker on), and before the picture goes confirm with the yes button. You now have light! eureka :)
i am not familiar with this model, but on most sets you will have a button on the remote to activate pip, when active you should be able to adjust channels on the small display with the remote and cycle through inputs. depending on the tv you will either have 2 inputs for your cable/sat/tv feed, or will have 1 with a dual tuner. check the connections in the back for a second cable input, or hook up a dvd/vcr/game console/etc to test the pip. start dvd or tape playing, press pip button to display the mini-screen, then use the tv/vcr or input button to cycle through the modes and see if one pops up. most tvs that have pip will also have a swap button on the remote, it may be labeled with text, or it may just look like one screen overlaying another, press that one to swap between displays.
The feature only works on the AV/PC channels and not on a single tuner (digital or analogue) and only if your AV source (Sky Box/Freeview/Dvd ect.) is connected to the TV by way of the RGB or HDMI connections.
My experience with an LE40R74BDX is that PIP is only available between the different input types of 1:- VGA, 2:- HDMI and 3:- everything else.
It is not available between any 2 items in the everything else category. So you must have at least one of the other input types in use (I use HBMI for my cable box).
Hope this reassures you, it's down to design not a fault.
