I left my mac g5 open overnight i forgot that i did not shot it down i just remembered the next day that it was still open but when i used my computer the monitor is blinking and i cant do anything now

By pressing and holding down the power key for about ten seconds on the front of the G5 you can perform a hard shutdown although you will have lost any changes on any open documents. Once the machine has shutdown you can then restart per normal. Hope this helps.

My PowerPC keeps shutting down unexpectedly, any time it wishes, most annoying. Screen turns grey from top down then message appears telling me to reboot, Mac has shut down unexpectedly. Messages refer...

Sometimes this can be caused with memory problems Reseat the memory by switching off the G5 then take out the memory and replace it back. It could be that it is slightly loose. Hope this helps.

Why does my desktop pro keeps shutting down unexpectedly

Just to clarify a G5 is not a Pro or "desktop Pro" (Mac Pro is an Intel based machine). Yours is a "Power Mac". Install a temp monitoring app to see the temperature (mainly the CPU temps). Mine runs around 50 to 60 Celsius and never more than 72. If the temps run to high she will shut down. G5 are great machines but it's not rare for them to go bad. Power supply issues and liquid coolant leaks are well know. Fans controllers have stopped working (the fans them selves are usually OK).

G5 shuts down and restarts withour any input from keyboard or mouse

Check for loose power cord -- both ends. Check for faulty or switched power outlet (move to a different outlet).
It's doubtful this is a hardware problem in the G5. A hardware problem would conceivably turn the power off, but it isn't likely to turn it back on.
Realize that in System Preferences it is possible to program many desktop models to shut down and start up at certain times on certain days. I am assuming your report means that your machine starts up in quick succession after shutting down, which makes this possibility remote.

Mac Mini G4 turns itself ON

Have you looked into System Preferences>energy saver>schedule? Maybe it's set up to start itself. I have my mother's mac set to start up and shut down automatically. Just a thought.

Mac G5 shutdown and now won't power up

Sounds like a bad power supply. They do go bad... get a new one and hook it up without installing it. If it boots your machine...you've solved your problem. That battery retains some boot info and your date/time settings.

Random Shutdown Syndrome

The Random Shutdown Syndrome (RSS) is caused due to the heating of the heatsink.

When the heatsink warmed up it expends, and causes the system to trip. Apple replaced the defected parts and fixed the problem, i guess not for all macs...
