    Hello romeetb,

The iomega drive is not connected to anything else - completely standalone. The iomega is a media player and i am trying to copy files from the Acer to it so that I can then view them on my television.

More info...When i check network connections status on the Acer the card is active i.e sending packets, but not receiving anything back.

    Hiya again Romeetb,
The device is an IOMEGA Screenplay PRO HD Software 02/12/2009 R1.5; 114725 U1.1.

Another point, when i select repair on the ACER LAN network connections setup it goes off and tries to "acquire a network address", doesn't succeed and comes up with message saying you may have "limited or no access" and the LAN icon inthe system tray has a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark in it.

    Hope this helps :-/

Wireless lan not working on my acer aspire 4520

The wireless feature (Wireless LAN) on an Acer notebook allows you to connect to available networks. This convenience allows you to use the Internet with network cables, modems or network installation. Acer laptops come with a wireless switch to turn the wireless feature on or off. Once you enable the wireless feature, your Acer notebook can connect to wireless networks within range.

Instructions:
1.Locate the Wireless LAN switch located on the front of your Acer Notebook. Move the switch to the right to turn on Wireless connections.

2.Right-click the network icon located on the system tray next to the clock. You should see a list of available wireless networks.

3.Select the network you want to connect to and click "Connect."

Hiya, i'm having some problems with my Acer Travelmate 2410. I'm trying to get the LAN to work. When I press the button the front for wireless, I get a 'Wireless LAN disabled'. I've...

Well usually the wireless and the non-wireless NICs are two diffenerent cards, so I would be surprised that both cards are deffective at the same time... firs you need to verify if your DHCP supplies you with an IP address when connecting, try to notice the icone close to the clock (bottom write corner of the screen) if it has a small yellow dot moving sidewaise for a long time (wired or wireless) than your computer is not receiving any IP, check if you can connect to your network with an other computer to see if it works, if not than it's not the computer that has a problem but rather your DHCP server/router... if it does work than scan your non working computer with an antivirus it is probably infected...

I have an Acer aspire one D150, windows XP. My brother reprogrammed it and now the wireless lan connection is gone in the network connection. how can i install it back??

Hi,

Since you mentioned that your laptop was reprogrammed, you need to install the drivers for your web cam in order for it to work again. You can find it in the CD that came when you bought your laptop.

Hope it helps.

Thanks!

Connect to wireless

Hello cornellcampb,

The Netgear WG111 USB Wireless Lan Adapter is a decent WiFi LAN adapter. It is reasonably priced and it's software is easy to install. I've been using it for a few years and it works fine.

If this solution is helpful please click a thumbs-up rating below.

Internet connectivity is constantly cutting out. I have to DIAGNOSE CONNECTION PROBLEM get connected again every 20 - 30 mins.

Please do confirm wireless or wired connection. If wireless ,reset wireless modem, install new wireless software (third party) or make sure wireless adapter in good position.
If wired run winsock fix, make sure ur lan cable socket is not loose, or try differnt cable, check windows update or antivirus.

Networking Problem

By local network do you mean using a wired connection or a wireless connection? I gather you mean with a wire.

The following link is to a PDF page listing the lan drivers from acer for an Aspire 3680 --

Drivers Link

The second and third entries on the list both appear to be wireless adapter drivers for built-in hardware (atheros or broadcom). Are you sure the driver you have loaded is the correct driver?

To determine which if the two may be suitable for your machine try the following

Click Start and right mouse click My Computer and select properties

Select the general tab and click on device manager

find your wireless adapter probably preceded by a yellow question mark (?)

double click on the wireless adapter entry

get the name at the top of the general tab and
the click the details tab and record the
device instance id value

Report what you found back here in a comment.

Hopefully the name will contain atheros or broadcom of not I hope I can lookup the device instance id string to determine the manufacturer of the wireless adapter.
