Run one positive to the negative on the speaker. The other positive and negative to the box.

I have 2 different subs in one box, a 12" MTX thunder and a 12" Kicker CVR. the kicker is a dual voice coil while the MTX I dont believe is. Can I use one amp for this set up? And how would it be wired?

im guessing both speakers are 4 ohms ..mtx 4ohms and kicker dual 4ohms..now if your amp can go down to 1 ohm wiring the kicker dual coils in parallel (2ohms) and the mtx connected together (4ohms) should leave you with a final impedance between 1 and 2 ohms ...i suggest you use one or get another

How to connect dual vouice coil to amp

Hey well your gonna need to give more info. is the sub dual 2ohm dual 4ohm. if you have a dual 2 ohm you wire one + to one- (like a jumper wire)and then your other +.- go to your amp as 4ohms, if you have a dual 4ohm model and your amp can handel 2ohm stereo then wire your +to+ to +on the amp and the same for your -. it will bring a 4ohms to 2 ohms by connecting pos. to pos. and neg.to neg. then to your amp.

How do you hook up 2 15 inch cvr to 1 ohm

Hello juanelreypla,

If your CVR's have dual 2 ohm voice coils, they can only be wired for 0.5 ohm, 2 ohm, or 8 ohm final loads.

http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/woofer_wizard.asp?submitted=true&woofer_qty=2&woofer_imp=3

If they have dual 4 ohm voice coils, they can be wired to a final load of 1 ohm. Wire the voice coils in parallel and then parallel both subs. Like the diagram in Wiring Option #1 shown here.

Logic soundlab cpx1400 need to wire to a kicker cvr 15

Hello discrete01,

The Kicker model number 07CVR122 has dual 2 ohm voice coils, and can be wired for either 1 ohm or 4 ohms. Model number 07CVR124 has dual 4 ohm voice coils and can be wired for either 2 ohms or 8 ohms.

Kicker's wiring page is here: http://www.kicker.com/dvc_wiring

If you have the version with 2 ohm voice coils, you want to use the 2nd diagram for a final load of 4 ohms to the amp. The 1 ohm load is too low for the amp and will cause it to overheat and possibly fail. If you have the 4 ohm version, use the wiring shown in the 3rd diagram which is a perfect match for the amp.

Hope this helps.

Use the above site for several wiring schematics on dual voice coil speaker hookups. It will show how to wire for different impedance.
Also, I think the CVR 12's come in 2 ohm and 4 ohm impedance. See if you can check yours to determine which you have....

How do you wire 4 kicker cvr dual voice coil 4ohms to a 1500.1 kicker mono block 1 channel amp, they sound distorted when i turn them up, how should i wire them?

Hello antjobe,

According to Kicker the 1500.1 is only stable to 2ohms. So you will want your 4 CVR's to present a 2ohm or higher impedance to the amp.

The best configuration would be to wire the voice coils in series (each sub 8ohms) and then parallel all of the subs to the amp (2ohms). Here's a link to the diagram.

Hope this helps.

Help wiring kicker cvr12's

Hello pr7met7me,

Assuming that the "old sony box" has 2 chambers with at least 1 cu/ft of internal volume each, there should be no problem running the Kickers. The CVR's are dual voice coils and come in either 2 ohm or 4 ohm versions. The coils are wired together either in parallel or in series and then wired to the box terminals.

You did not specify what make and model of amp that you intend to use. The amp will dictate how the sub voice coils are wired. You do not want to go below the minimum load that your amp is capable of supporting. If your subs are the 2 ohm version, you wire the dvc's in parallel and then parallel both subs to the amp, your final load to the amp will be 0.5 ohm and there are not many amps stable at that low of an impedance.

The terminals with the white dots are for the first voice coil. The terminals with solid-red and solid-black markings are for the 2nd voice coil. In a parallel setup, you would wire the white-dot positive and the solid-red terminals to the box internal positive and the white dot negative and solid-black to the box internal negative. In a series setup, you would run a jumper from the white dot negative to the solid-red and then connect the remaining terminals to the box terminals.

Hope this helps.

How do i wire 10' kicker cvr

dual 2 or dual 4

dual 2 wire vc's in series for a 4 ohm load each. Hook each speaker seperate channels on the amp.

dual 4 wire vc in series for an 8 ohm load each. Hook both + to the right + on the amp and both - to the left - on the amp. or

dual 4 wire vc in parallel for a 2 ohm load each and hook each speaker to seperate channels on the amp.
