Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

Kodak Brownie Super 8 Projector

Hi.
I have a couple of these projectors which I can't seem to get working.
I have loaded a reel of film in and turned the switch to project but there is no movement. I have tried changing the fuse, so it isn't that.
Is there something I am missing?
Would appreciate any advice you can offer.
Thanks

I have a minolta autodual 8 film projector but the front reel is turning backwards in the wrong direction. How do I change the direction to turn in the same direction as the back reel.

I assume you haven't put a reel of film onto the projector and looped it through to the back spool. The front spool usually 'freewheels' whilst the film is pulled through the projector and taken up by the motor driven rear spool.
It is possible that the friction drive and/or drive belt have deteriorated with age, as the mentioned projector is a rather elderly 'classic' of the dual 8mm series.
If in doubt, don't risk your family pictures. Try the unit with an old piece of film on small spools.

Hi, my dad's Kodak Brownie 8 A15 regular 8mm film projector has an issue with the knob. It will turn to the rewind position but not Project. Does it have to be pushed in ? I hate to force it.

http://www.grantmillar.net/kodak-brownie8-manual-15-g-version1.pdf. Doesn't seem to need it. Check to make sure the knob hasn't turned ie off is project and rewind is off and there is another setting after rewind.

? Is the sprocket wheel in the middle of the projector supposed to move? The film seems to be locked up in there, and only the few inches of film in the gentle curve above the lens seems to feed thro

I know this post is old but I found a solution. The axle going to the sprocket is locked up with something sticky. You have take out the two screws holding the white plastic piece around the sprocket. Then loosen the small bolt on the big wheel on the other side. Remove the big wheel. Try to push the axle through to the other side. If it doesn't budge easily, hammer it out. That's what I had to do. Then clean it up real good with solvent, like alcohol. Lube it with grease and put it all back together. Worked for me.

Eumig 610D Super 8 projector take-up reel not engaging at hub so will not rotate. Hub will rotate, not the reel. Perhaps worn key?

I think the Eumg 610D was a dual guage projector, capable of showing both Standard 8 and Super 8 films. (I'm basing my comments on the S810D I have in front of me, its sound "big brother").

To move between formats, there were two cogs internally that had to be changed, a film gate (two parts), and two adaptors/liners inserted into the centre of the film reels that transformed the centre from "a fat one" to "a thin one".

If the take up driver cog is rotating, but the reel is not, check whether the adaptor is in place.

You can see what they look like on eBay....

If the rear driver cog is not rotating, then it might be a worn/defective drive belt, in which case leave a further comment and we'll explore that.

Hope this helps

Belle & Howell Super 8 Projector model 254RS loading problem

Don't have the motor switch in the still position when loading -make sure it is on FORWARD. Look at the little holes in the film and make sure the film is on the same side as the little grooves on the drive gear.
PS -let the bulb cool off before try to move the projector ,the bulbs are very expensive and hard to find.
If you do use the still position to view a frame do it for just a few seconds or the bulb will burn the film. Good luck- Tom.
