could you detail its general location and give a brief description?

I have a Toshiba (50H82) 50" projection screen television. In which I recently replaced its hyper module. Before the module was replaced the set had sound on all inputs, but after the modules replacement there was no sound at all. I have insured all connectors are seated and in there correct places. I have a service manual for the tv but it seems to be lacking as to the tv's audio circuits. Any input as to what the problem could be would be appreciated. In an earlier post it was mentioned it might be the audio ic module. I thank you all for your help.

Hi,
Make sure AV module is fixed correctly in Signal board.
Hyper module has nothing to do with tv sound circuit.
Sound switching is in AV board and sound out chip Q601 is on main signal board.
Do you get sound on monitor out pins at tv back?
Thanks.

Thats almost always caused by the surface mount capacitors which get weak on the hyper board. Hyper boards are going to be hard to find. But the capacitors can be replaced which will usually solve the issue. However it will require precise soldering skills to do the repair.

50H82 red wavy convergence (stks didn't fix)

If the tin can module you are referring to is the hyper module, it is common to replace all 11 caps because the factory caps ****. Check for bridged solder connections at STK's search the forum at electromaniacs for 50h81 :)

When I turn on my 50H82 it takes 10 to 15 minutes

I just did a repair on one of these. Check your picture-on-picture. If the the secondary picture is clear, chances are very good the problem is on the "hyper board". We d not replace the hyper board - we repair it. The board is very expensive and rarely, if ever, available. There are several parts in the module that need replaced, but these are definitely not user replaceable. They are very small surface mount components and even I have lifted a copper or trace or two doing these. It is tedious work but our repair bill was well below $300. It is also something I do not do in the home and taking it to the repair facility is a money saver. I did go to the home on this one and remove the board to the shop, however they only lived a few miles away so the service call was low priced. Hope this helps...

Toshiba - 50H82 service manual

Don't buy a hyper module simply replace the smt lytics with some mini cam radials cut to fit. You will be looking to replace Cx261, Cx230, Cx270, Cz52, Cx178, Cx221, C514, Cx250, Cx670, Cx241 and Cx541 all of them 16v/10uf... The Hyper is easy to locate it's the large metal cased vertical board just behind the jack panel. Two screws and some patience getting it out and you should have it repaired in less than an hour.
I do have the service manual and would be glad to send it, email me privately for a link.
