Check little hole in regulator where it detects airpressure. check membrane, check electrical part of regulator. but first release screw or bolt to set pressure. this is mostly in the spring.

Pressure switch shut-off set too high.

It is adjustable. Remove the square cover nut and adjust the spring tension. . It would be best to lower to 110-115 psi. The compression rings will thank you for it..

I have a cap2060 Bostitch pancake. When pressure builds to 125psi the pressure switch blows open and starts to release air. I replaced the switch and the same thing is happening. Is there a way to adjust...

A little suggestion as most compressors are build up similar in the same way if your Pressure relief valve (unloader valve) will start continues blow off until all pressure is lost , it has nothing to do with the pressostat switch in most case there is a problem with the checkvalve on the tank sometimes there are metal little oxidized parts coming out from the cilinder like the pressure hose connections Oxidized couplings or membrane you can open and inspect the spring and rubber valve iside the checkvalve clean it from corrosion and metal parts.

Load and unload issues

  • The 10 deg pressure band you are asking for is too narrow for the pressure switch. You are going to have to choose to have it kick off at a higher pressure or turn on at a lower pressure.
  • You could install a more precise pressure switch.
  • What are you doing that you set a 10 deg pressure band ?

Pressure drops significantly before compressor starts

Some pressure switches can be adjusted with an allen wrench. You can't get more pressure from the regulator knob of the pressure isn't in the tank. look at the pressure switch with the cover off. If you see a screw with a spring around it. turn it clock wise 1/4 turn at a time until 125 is reached. The motor will labor more, so 2 hp may not be enough.

Husky 17gal 5hp compressor will not cut off when it builds up pressure. Pressure valve will pop open and then I cut it off buy hand

bad pressure switch or it is wired incorrectly replace switch and check the wiring or could be out of adjustment you compressor is made for max 125psi should be a screw to adjust on the pressure switch near where the wires are connected back out counter clockwise to lower and see if that turns it off
