Hi, On the computer that you are sharing the printer can you check the following: 1. That you have IP connectivity between the two PC's Open up a command window on both PC's and type ipconfig to determine the IP address of that machine. On the remote machine's command window type "ping a.b.c.d" (where a.b.c.d is the IP address of the remote PC you determined from the command line). You should see a response if connectivity is good i.e. Pinging 192.168.99.254 with 32 bytes of data: Reply from 192.168.99.254: bytes=32 time=2ms TTL=255 If you have connectivity, it may be that you have a personal firewall on the PC sharing the printer that is blocking the traffic from the remote PC? (i.e. ZoneAlarm etc etc) How close are the PC's? .. would it make sense to use a USB switch to share the printer instead? .. this has the benefit that both PCs dont need to be on at the same time Let me know how you get on and hopefully some of the above will steer us towards a solution!

1. Try to print from local system if it does not then reinstall printer driver. check catridges.
2. Now right click on the printer using sharing options, share it again.
3. On the other computers using network icon, browse the printer connected system. Explore the system till you see the shared printer and double click it. It will take 2 to 5 Minutes and then your printer is network connected.
4. Now remove the old printer icons. And check printing using the new one.

Running Windows Emulator on a Mac (Virtual Box) trying to connect the Windows to the computer trash the printer to Windows Emulator and the printer icon is showing offline has 10.6 and uses Windows 7

Base from the description of your problem , it seems that you're using a Virtual machine running windows 7 from your MAC, In order for us to provide you the p[roper trouble shooting for this one, can you please provide us some details is the printer connected directly to your computer via USB or its connected on your network or shared by another computer? If its connected via USB try right click on the printer from printers and faxes windows from control panel and check if you have use printer offline.

This problem can be a software related problem, so if you haven't run the the setup disc for the printer yet while using the virtual Windows 7 do it right now to configure the printer properly.

I want to add my HP laserjet 1200c to my wireless network. I am using vista home premium edition 64 bit. I have had it before but it stopped working and showed the printer as offline. When I tried to add...

If your printer is already connected to a computer and working, all you should cdo is share it. Right click on its icon (under printers and faxes from control panel and select share). Then gradually the printer will automatically install it self all over the network. But if you to use it urgenty on the network manually configure by going the respective computer. Go to network places/view workgroup computers, double click on the computer with the printer. your will see the printer icon. double click on it to install.

Our Ricoh MP 171 devices go offline after one

have you tried doing a local connect using a crossover cable to the printer to see if it is the printer or the 2k3 server?
I have seen this issue when terminal services are enabled on the server.
if when you connect locally to the device using x-over it still does it it may need to have the nib firmware updated, however if it doesnt I would run a packet sniffer on the network jack that the device is plugged into and check to make sure that the port is good and transmitting and receiving all packets check the network cable and replace that and if all else fails try the device on a different network port.

Cannot print to network printer

Is this printer installed on a server and shared over a network? Or is it installed independently on each workstation?
If it's on a server, printing could be "paused", or set to "use offline" Go to the "printers and Faxes" dialog box, and 'right click" on the printer icon, is there an option to either "resume printing", or "use printer ON line"? If so, select this option.
If it's not on a server then it would be extremely unlikely that this condition would happen on all workstations
Other than that make sure that the Subnet mask is set correctly on the printer.
If that doesn't work....it's probably time to try re-installing the driver.

Network printe on vista

Accessing a Shared Printer To access a shared printer from a computer running Windows Vista, do the following:
  1. Click Start, and then click Network. The Network window displays a list of computers in the workgroup of the computer.
  2. Double-click the name of the computer containing the shared printer that you want to access.
  3. Right-click the shared printer that you want to access, and then click Connect. Alternately, you can double-click on Printers to see just the list of shared printers, and then right-click the shared printer that you want to access, and then click Connect.
After you have connected to the shared printer, you will be able to print to this shared printer as long as the printer and the computer sharing the printer are turned on.

please note that in network the computer that has the network printer if it is running XP may take as long as 15minutes to be recognized.
