Hello i have a Dell Dimension 2350 and boy my system keep restarting and i dont have a recovery or any disk but trying to copy from a website and dont work please help im trying to do f8 f11 and f10 a

You may not have the Dell PD Restore by Symantec utility on your 2350, this is install on Dimension systems shipped after 7.16.04.

An other way to tell, is to check Disk Management and see if there's a small 2.5 to 4gb second partition on the hard drive.

If you do have the small partition try this, it may work,

I have a blue error screen and unable to sign on with it not booting, can this be fixed for the 2350 desktop?

With out knowing all the details, I'd say you have some major software corruption.
Perhaps a driver issue or a major malware problem.

You will need to go through a series of troubleshooting steps.
1st trying booting into "safe mode".
Windows might at least give you some access to your computer.

If you don't have any valuable data on the system, you have your installation, and, or, "Dell recovery" disks you might want to consider just reinstalling it.

My dell 968 printer wont print. I can use the computer to scan, or I can make copies. But when I try to print something the box that comes up and shows you the % that has been sent to printer stops at...

It sounds like you need to clear the print spooler.

If you have Windows XP,Vista, or Win7 try this:
go to START>RUN - in the OPEN box, type "taskmgr" (without quotes) you can also do a CTRL/ALT/DEL
when the task manager comes up,
go to the processes tab, and look for "spoolsv.exe"
left click it, and choose END PROCESS. it will warn you that ending it might cause instability. say yes or ok, its not a problem - you're going to restart it in a minute.

now, go back to the START>RUN box, and in there, type "spoolsv.exe" again without quotes

now try printing again - you should be all set

good luck!

I lost administrator privilege on my Dell computer. There are many things I can no longer do, such as virus scan, etc.

how did you lose admin privileges, really to give them back to yourself,

Restart the computer as soon as it comes on start tapping the f8 key untill it gives you the option to run in safe mode,

Click on admin, then go to start, Control Panel Users and modify it so you have them again

Unexpected restart

Hello rjblittle

I've seen this problem with dell's before, A/B diagnostic lights appear as as yellow lights is a memory error. Most techs and I have found it to be bad memory. I would suggest replacing the memory or before doing that take the memory out and try it in different memory bank slots to see if that helps.

hope this helps

Spoolsv.exe application error

The Spoolsv.exe executable file is responsible for handling the printing process on a Microsoft Windows system. Although this process is not crucial to run your Windows system, you must not terminate it until you think that it is causing problems on the system.

To fix spoolsv.exe application error, you will have to remove these files from the system. To do this, perform the following steps on your Windows XP computer:
  1. Open Control Panel, select Performance and Maintenance, select Administrative Tools and then select the Services option.
  2. In the Services management console, locate the Spooler services, right-click on it and select Stop.
  3. Next, open the C:\Windows\System32\Spool\Printers folder. (Here, we are assuming that your Windows is installed in the default C:\Windows folder)
  4. Delete all the .SHD and SPL files from this folder.
  5. Next, open the TMP folder and delete all old and unused files from this folder.
  6. Finally, restart the Spooler service from the Services management console.

Note: If you are unable to delete the files in Normal Mode, then you may have to restart your computer in Safe Mode to delete the files. To start your PC in Safe Mode, press F8 at system restart and then select the Safe Mode option from Windows Advanced Options Menu.

If deleting the files does not rectify the problem, you must perform a System Restore and rollback your system to the time prior to when the error started appearing on your computer.
  • It is important for you to know that application errors can also occur due to virus or spyware infections. In fact the Spoolsv.exe process is also a known backdoor vulnerability that can be planted on your computer for malicious purposes by a hacker.
*Your vote is highly be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Let me know if this fix your problem.

Best regards
