If you have the disc with the drivers for your video card i would go to device manager click on the + sign next to display adapter ,right click on the video card and remove or uninstall it ,then reboot pc,when windows auto detects new hardware , sellect have disc, and insert driver disc,.....(if this is what you have done already with no luck ) then when windows detects new hardware ,close it and run the driver software from the disc,if you can't run the driver disc, windows will load the generic driver, . if you are not able to load windows normally, start windows in safe mode (press f8 when booting up and when you get a menue sellect safe mode) to remove display adapter, this has helped me in the past
good luck

Test all power and data leads that attach to your hard drive IDE,SATA

the leads from your (motherboard to your hard drive) make sure they have secure dust free connections and are not faulty or just replace them they might be faulty

if its a 40 pin flat ribbon type it will be the first to fail

make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty

even something as small as a faulty electrical fan and its lead can cause you problems

computers need all power and data to continue through every working device and to have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error

make sure your graphics card is securely seated with no dust built up or in the socket

if you remove your graphics check the socket to make sure its dust free

restart your computer then reinstall it this should activate found new hardware wizard

After the most recent HP update, my ATI 4850 now has registry issues. It no longer recognizes my second monitor and the PC only allows for basic video settings. Here is what appears when I run a check...

Yoy can find the sections in the registry with regedit from the 'run' command. That takes experienced users to deal with. Alternatively, use the device manager in 'System' and delete the display device. On re-booting it will go through the found hardware wizard and re-load the drivers.

No display after installed H4550 Driver on Windows XP

did you install the driver?, also did you run the "new hardware wizard"?, you might need to uninstall the "old" driver for the old card, then put in the "new" card and boot it up the "found new hardware" wizard should pick it up and install it, if it's "plug and play", let me know if this helps, happy 4th, and god bless

Still doesnt worked..

I guess I had better ask some questions.

1) What video card or "On Board" video adapter are you using?

2) Why did you have to 'unintall" it, and what do you mean by "uninstall"?

3) What were the symptoms?

4) Did the file need unzipping? and did you do so? Note: Unzip the file to the same folder that you downloaded the file to..

5) When you reinstalled the driver, did it find the new one? or did it only find the Standard VGA Adapter?

Try this - RIGHT click on My Computer - select Properties - select Hardware - select Device Manager - select Display Adapters - Click on the video card listing (is there only one?) - select Driver - select Update Driver. When asked for a location Browse to where you have placed the Unxzipped files. These should then be used to Update your video driver rather than the standard VGA drivers.

Please get back to me with the answers.

Onboard graphic (vga) chip problem

You never said that you ininstalled the drivers for the cards. Try this:

Uninstall current graphics card drivers. Right-click My Computer and select Properties. Under the Hardware tab, find the button to open the Device Manager. Your graphics card should be listed under the Display Adapter heading. Double-click the name of your graphics card to open a properties window for your current card. Last step: Under the Driver tab, click the Uninstall button.

Install new drivers. Turn on your PC and install the drivers. Windows XP should automatically recognize the new hardware and walk you through the installation wizard. If Windows doesn't detect the card, click Settings from the Start menu. Open the Control Panel and click Add Hardware. From there, a wizard will help you install the new drivers from the CD that came bundled with your new card. It's a good idea to check the graphic card vendor's Web site for more up-to-date drivers, just in case the vendor has released drivers since manufacturing your card. Once you've downloaded the drivers, simply restart your PC. Now, you're ready to start gaming.

If this doesnt work, then your card is BAD.
Let me know how you make out.
