The reliability comes from the quality of workmanship of the systems people. The language is irrelevant except that some languages have limitations. I would consider that these two are six of one and half a dozen of the other. You must decide on who you feel is giving the best deal AND will give you the best BACKUP SERVICE.

Where can I get free download of Visual Basic 6.0 installer?

Visual Basic 6.0 is no longer supported by Microsoft so how do you get a hold of it? Currently there is not an easy legal way to get a hold of VB6. Yes that's correct - although people will tell you to simply download a bit-torrents for VB6, this is not legal because you did not buy a VB6 license. Stupid I agree considering that Microsoft does not allow you to purchase a license.

If you simply need to install an application that was originally written in VB6 you can download the Runtime Installer for VB, install it, and then install your VB program. If you want to get a hold of the VB6 developer environment I suggest asking friends that might have it and no longer use it - for example companies that maybe bought legitimate copies and are willing to give up their license (although you would need to verify this is legal and that the license is transferable). Another option is to try and buy it on EBAY.

How to run vb

How to Run a Visual Basic Program on a PC By an eHow Contributor

Like C++, C Sharp and Java, Visual Basic (VB) is an object oriented programming language. Recently it was integrated to the Microsoft .NET Framework. The .NET Framework is a software infrastructure that speeds up program development. It is supported by the Microsoft Visual Studio Integrated Development Environment (IDE), Microsoft's chief programming environment, and that of SharpDevelop.
Difficulty: Easy Instructions Things You'll Need:

  • Visual Microsoft Studio and .NET Framework
  1. Launch your Microsoft Visual Studio. It is a "heavy" application so depending on how much RAM you have it may take a few minutes to load.
  2. Click the Project tab on the first screen. Notice two buttons at the bottom of the screen named "New Project" and "Open Project." Since the tutorial assumes that this is your first VB program, click the "New Project" button. If you worked on a project before, its name will appear in an area labeled "Open an Existing Project" with a hyperlink that opens the project.
  3. Select "Windows Application" in the "Visual Basic Projects" folder if you intend to run your end program on a computer running a Microsoft Windows operating system. Focus in the "Name" text box near the bottom. Change the name from the default to something more descriptive such as "MyFirstVBProgram." Leave the Location to the default value to save your project to the "My Documents" folder. Press OK.
  4. Concentrate on the grey square area with the arrays of dots. This is the "form." The pinboard shows where components like buttons and text boxes will be installed to make a complete graphic user interface (GUI). The purpose of the grid is to align the components.
  5. Run your program. Click "Debug" from the menu bar. Click "Start" from the drop down menu. Alternatively, you can press F5 on your keyboard.
  6. Enjoy your first Visual Basic program in its simplest form. It is identical to the form in Step 4 except that the dots are gone. What you are looking at is a stand alone program that exists as an ".exe" file having the same name as your project. You can find it under the MyFirstVBProgram folder by default.
  7. Understand the difference between the two distinct environments of the IDE, the Design Environment and the Debug Environment. You saw the Design Environment in Step 4 of this tutorial. That was the environment where you could design a GUI on the form using your mouse. The Debug Environment takes over during the compilation interval in Step 5. That is where you can insert break points in your source code so that you test the correctness of the program.

WHAT IS VB.NET?

Visual Basic .NET (VB.NET) is an object-oriented computer programming language that can be viewed as an evolution of Microsoft's Visual Basic (VB) which is generally implemented on the Microsoft .NET Framework. It is a competing technology to Sun's (now Oracle's) Java 2 Enterprise Edition framework.

I dont know the disadvantages of visual basic.

visual basic, is only a basic programming language, most programs will run on Java script, microsoft is visual basic though, but it uses a lot more complex scripts then, if you like the programing language, go for it, but i did not like it.
Also
VB is undoubtedly the simplest and easiest platform to build major Windows applications. The problem is that like other Microsoft products they change faster than I change my socks.You will certainly need more than just VB. Get into server and client side scripting and the use of VB Net.

Youcan safely install or uninstall using Visual FoxPro Setup. If you areupgrading Visual FoxPro, you must first uninstall the previous versionof of the program. If you planto publish XML Web services using Visual FoxPro, you might want to setup Internet Information Services (IIS) on a Windows 2000, Windows XP orWindows Server 2003 computer. Refer to your operating systemdocumentation for instructions on how to set up and configure IIS.
030c41d9079671d09a62d8e2c1db6973.gifNote VisualFoxPro setup no longer installs any Windows operating system ServicePacks or versions of Internet Explorer. It is highly recommended thatyou install the latest versions of these components before installingVisual FoxPro. Additionally, Visual FoxPro 9.0 is supported only onWindows 2000 Service Pack 3 or later. An example of visual basic program

Visual Basic (VB) is the thrid generation event-driven programming language and integrated development enviorment (IDE) from Microsoft for its COMprogramming model. VB is also considered a relatively easy to learn anduse programming language, because of its graphical development featuresand BASIC heritage.
Here is an example of a code that displays a message box "Hello, World!"
as the program runs:

Private
Sub Form_Load()
MsgBox "Hello, World!"
End Sub

simply making duplicated lines of text and changing the words in the
speech marks can draw a different text and ammounts.
For example:

Private
Sub Form_Load()
MsgBox "Welcome, blue_skies61!"
MsgBox "My name is Siwek06!"
End Sub

you can also bold the text by puting this line before a text:

Sub SetFontBold()

Overall i think this is a easy language to learn.
Go on to microsoft.com help center, or the forums to learn more.
