    What is the DG board?

So it appears that no amount of trouble shooting will help this and is it possible that it will resolve itself?

    How much do repairs cost?

  • lisettenovo Feb 04, 2010

Please help me figure this out! When we unplugged it and plugged it back in, the television "clicked" like it was going to turn on, but did not.

  • lisettenovo Feb 04, 2010

is this really the only reason it will blink ten times????

We just got the tv tonight from someone and apparently it was working today, that is why I am hesitant to accept that it broke that quickly.

Hello? Please help! It was working today and some of the threads I have been reading say that this is an easy fix. Help?!

10 binks with no turn on is a power supply problem, u will need a service rep to run a full diagnostic of the tv to figure out what parts need to be replaced.

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. 10 blinking lights means the video controller inside your TV has malfunctioned and needs to be replaced. Also check the DG Board and the power supply board for any cold solder joints.
Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

If you get this done by a professional the cost will be around $200-$300 including labor, DG board is inside the back of the TV however first the controller should be replaced. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

    Thanks

Thats why I advised you to check the power supply board for blown capacitors as the click sound that you hear could be due the capacitors going bad. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

    Thanks

You can leave the unit unplugged for 10-24hrs so that it resets itself however if it does not then you have to replace the video controller. Even if it works it might happen then it might go bad after few days. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

    Thanks

If this is a plasma tv--and the model # sounds like it is it may have lost a sustain board a VERY common problem in these.

It went out within ten seconds. I pushed the power button again and the tv went on. WOOHOO!!! Just needed reset, I guess.

I plug in my TH-42PZ80U and it doesnt turn on but a red light blinks ten times.

Apparently this common problem is due to a faulty power board. Contact Panasonic for a replacement if it's under warranty (hopefully) or a local repair shop. Good luck!
