Replaced my old 6280 mainboard with my 6288 and had new LCD put in - phone works 80% - the only functions that don't work is the camera/video?
I have a few video files and it opens to play but freezes takes nearly a minute to blank out to white then back to normal. When press the camera button it takes same amount of time for it to think and when I slide up the slider the keypad lights go out, then shows that it this Operation Failed and then show camera on stand by?
Is there something that I didn't put back together right or have I indeed damaged the flexi cable?
I also noticed that another person said that - this problem due to track open in the flexi cable(slide strip).please try to change it? What does that mean.
Anyone that can HELP please.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

The problem is due to CCD/CMOS (the chip that physically captures light and creates the digital image) has broken. If this is the case , a repair would cost approximately $80-$130. This is the most common problem for a camera that takes blank/lines in images but where the menu display functions and old photo's display normally. Please confirm that these stripes are normally behind the menu's. Check to see if the new images are downloaded correctly and if the video function works normally. If this does not work, it supports the idea that the chip has gone.Take it to a repair,if the CCD has to be replaced then a new or refurbished camera would cost only slightly more. Thank you !!
Ok, here's what I did. I followed this video on Youtube (it says 6280, it works exactly the same with 6288)to disassemble my 6288 (same problem, backlight on the display wouldn't work most of the time) and I finally found there was some leeway on the metal housing that keeps the display in place (so you only need to take out the display over to sort this out). I solved it by putting some bent paper on top of the lower left corner of the metal housing and putting the front cover back in place. Now it gives me no problem at all. I hope this will help you too. And, to all of those talking about bringing it to the repairman... come on, 6288 disassembly is quite simple (you don't even need the Torx screwdrivers but to get the main board out). Don't make it something more difficult that it is.
if you are getting the preview in the camera then there is no problme with the strip ... if you are getting the preview error means then the camera strip is surely gone ... you must take the cell to the service technician and get replaced with the new strip ... as this the damageable service it is better to take to technician ... "minor mistakes makes you pay more" .. so just visit the technician ...
any further doubts reply me i am always here to assist you ... thank you bye ..
HI. 1ST U OPEN THE BACK COVER AND REMOVE THE BATTRY > NOW OPEN THE SCREW > PULL THE BACK COVER VERY CAREFULLY PULL UR MOBILE PCB VERY CAREFULLY AND REMOVE THE STRIP CONNECTOR SAME PROCEDURE FOR FRONT SIDE WHEN BOTH SIDES R OPEN THEN CLOSE SLID AND PULL THE STRIP FROM MOBILE'S SLIDE. THEN NEW STRIP ENTER THE SLID AND FLOWS THE SAME PROCEDURE IN REVERS CONDITION. NOTE -(WHEN U PULLED THE STRIP THEN MIND IT WHICH SIDE IS DISPLAY SIDE OR WHICH SIDE IS PCB SIDE.
Dear Sunny1985, How do you flash a nokia 6288 or 6280? I have a virus (claimed by a technician) which is contantly making my internet connection online even though I have disabled it manually. Still does not work and a shop technician tried but could not solve the problem! Could you please guide me as to how I can restore it to it's original settings. Thanks
