Question about Samsung HLR5067WX 50" Rear Projection HDTV

1 Answer

I have an HLR5057WAX DLP Samsung tv and my picture freezes often and the tv will sometimes power off. When it freezes it will stay that way for about a minute and usually turn back to normal. Lately I have had trouble with it wanting to power on. The tv is about 5 years old and I have never replaced the lamp. Could this be the problem or could it be something else? Thanks for your help

The lamp is usually your first replacement, but a freeze in picture may have to do with the video board or the DMD board. Try the lamp first and see if that fixes it--because you'll need a new one anyway if you're going to keep the television. Make sure to get an OEM Philips lamp for your Sammy. Buy from an authorized distributor.

Samsung dlp tv picture turns off sound stays on

Hello
Check whether the lamp life hours are going to be out. Refer to its user manual for details. DLP chips fault is very rare; unless you have handled them very carefully. Check the lamp and BALLAST baord that supplies voltage to lamp.

Samsung DLP picture keeps freezing

The problem is either the color wheel or dmd board. Both parts are expensive so I would recommend contacting a Samsung authorized repair center. You can call 1-800-samsung or go to samsung-usa.com to find a service provider.

My Samsung DLP hln567w tv has NO picture on all

If the Lamp ignites and stays lit, but screen is completely black, not even the on screen display, then it is likely a bad DMD board.

If the lamp ignites and then turns off after a couple seconds then it is likely the color wheel is seized.

If the lamp never fires, but the TV clicks a bunch of times, then it could be a bad Ballast or the Lamp itself.

Samsung DLP TV, no picture, has sound

Try replacing the ballast next. Its the small circuit board directly underneath the lamp housing. You can access it through the lamp door. If the ballast is overheating or has a leaking capacitor, the tv won't stay lit for more than a minute or two.

DLP HL-R5067W

Your model has a maximum resolution of 720p. What you might want to do is make sure that both your cable/sat box and game stations are outputting at no more than 720 resolution. It's easy to assume that all HDTVs may accept a higher signal, and while they might, some of the scene changes or handshakes may make that operation cause the symptoms you describe.
