Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: Raid 0 on Intellistation 6221?

That particular work station comes with both IDE and SCSI drive interface controllers. The IDE drive should be used for your OS. The SCSI drives for your data storage. Now, the issue is to get the SCSI to work in RAID_0 as I understand.

You iwll need a RAID controller such as Adaptec AHA-3940AU WD SCSI Host Controller, which may be found on eBay (used) for a very affordable price. The driver software may be downloaded directly from Adaptec, so I suggest you do that in the iterim peroid, and store drivers on a USB thumb drive.

Hope this helps you.

SOURCE: I have hp proliant with raid 1+0 .I have 2 hard and usr in option

no ,RAID 0+1 need minimum 2 disk because 1 disk is the mirror of the second disk ,consequently, the number of the disk for RAID 0+1 must be even.Raid 0+1 is the same as the Raid 1 (mirroring) .but it is faster than Raid 1 .because raid 0 has stripping .

Most IT Departments require their employees to be Microsoft Certified before they can replace a Motherboard. You can find them at EBay. It is the most labor intensive thing to do. Both the hardware part and then the software part. Get someone who has done this before to at least help.

Confuguring raid5

Hi

You would need 4 Hard disk drives in total. you would need to create 2 RAID 0 (striping) and then Mirror them (RAID 1). to elaborate, HDD A&B will be at RAID 0 as well as HDD C&D. after, you would have to Mirror your two RAID 0. (raid 0+1 is also known as raid 5)

Hope this helps.

Sometimes shortened to RAID 10, RAID 1+0 is a particular combination of two different RAID levels: mirroring (RAID 1) and striping (RAID 0). The appeal of RAID 1+0 is simple: mirroring gives you the highest level of availability RAID offers, with the fastest rebuild times when a disk fails; while striping - using the proper chunk size - is the basis for high-performance I/O.

I would like to create a RAID array on my Dell Dimesion 2350

Hi there
Download the raid drivers from Dell if you need them.
You have to go into the bios settings to enable raid, look to see what raid options you have and choose them accordingly to how you want your raid configuration.

Thanks for using Fixya!!!
