Cyberhome dvd ch-300 dvd player

Comment by 4z4jt, posted on Feb 13, 2008 Just exactly same problem !!
Constant orange light that turns red or green depending on which button you press. Won't turn on. Pressing "stop" button does not reset unit as suggestions on other fix-it sites.
I took it apart and checked the power supply.11.5 volts and 2.75 volts are supplied to the circuit.
Any idea what the problem is ??

Not sure, but I believe the 2.75 volts you have should be 5.0 volts.
May want to check capacitors on power supply.
The output connector on the supply may also be labeled with
the correct volatges for reference. COnstant orange light may be
indicating the +5v is low.

Hi,

As most current designs of such devices, you can force a full hard reset on the unit/system by unplugging it from the mains for a couple of hours (or overnight).

Thereafter, pls post back if problem persist and will work form thereon.

Cyberhome CH-DVD 300 DVD doesn't work, Help! please.

It sounds like a common problem with these units, which is easily fixed...

Open the unit and look at the capacitors on the power supply circuit board, there are probably some bulging or leaking caps on it, just replace them and you should be good to go. You should replace them with a little higher voltage but keep the same micro-farad value. ie: use a 16volt in place of a 12volt.

Red light is barley on

The CyberHome CH 300 is a good, inexpensive DVD player with a power supply board prone to fail, because of a few weak components, especially if left turned on and not used.
Usually, if the power supply fails, the red light will not illuminate when plugged in, and of course not turn green when turned on.

If you have this specific problem, I can repair the power supply for $20.00. Contact me at FrancisH49@hotmail.com to arrange shipping and return of the repaired board.
