Our freezer leaks water on the floor. Looks like the water is actually coming out of the freezer. not from below. It leaks a small puddle at a time. Maybe once per day.

I had the same problem, and the solution is that the drain valve was plugged. On my unit, I removed the lower back panel and started cleaning. It was filthy, and I don't think it had been cleaned for 8 years or so. Anyway, there is a drain hose that releases into a flat pan. The pan is really long and weaves its way through the all the other components under the fridge. It is designed to increase surface area and allow the defrosted water to evaporate. Anyway, the drain hose into that pan was plugged. I just removed it from the point of connection to the drain and blew into it (from upstream) and that dislodged the dirt plugging it up. My system allowed relatively easy access, but I would guess some designs might be pretty tricky. Also, make sure you have some towels standing by because when you remove the drain hose, all the backed up water will come streaming out. This was a surprisingly easy job, and only took about 30 minutes total. The main work was vacuuming all the dirt. The lesson learned is that this should be done every few months. Also, a lot of the insulation around the components had pretty much disintegrated, so that was more clean up, and I imagine there might be some issues now with efficiency and maybe hot or uneven spots in the fridge itself.

I'd check the seal around the freezer to see if there are any leaks first. You can check if the fridge has a energy saver switch that helps with condensation.

1. Your freezer may be not cold enough so water does not freeze.
2. Your freezer may leak so warm air goes into the freezer and keep the temperature higher than freezing temperature.

Water is leaking out onto the floor from freezer

Hello,

The water is from the melted frost of the defrost cycle. The drain at the bottom of the back wall of the freezer is blocked so instead of the water draining into the pan where it will evaperate,it's pooling on the freezer floor and freezing, in many case when the floor indent is full the water will leak onto the floor.By pulling the refrigerator out from the wall, there will be a tube behind the service panel on the right side when looking at it from the rear, that tube can be removed and cleared, then clear the nozzle it connects to inside the freezer.

I hope this helps you to stop the leak,
Gene

If you have an ice maker, check for a leak in the water line. If no ice maker, there could be a leak in the pan for the defrost water, or the drain hose is out of position. Also, check to see if the water is actually leaking out from the freezer door. That would indicate a clogged drain. The bottom inside the freezer may have water, or ice on it. If so, suspect the clogged drain.

My Maytag wide by side is leaking water from the

Yes. Your defrost drain hole in the lower rear of the freezer is frozen over with ice. Turn off the fridge. Remove the shelves and bins from the freezer side. Break up any ice on the floor of the freezer and dispose of it. Use a hair dryer to melt the ice over the drain hole in the rear portion of the freezer. Once it is clear pour a 1/4 cup of bleach into the drain hole.

Accumulation of water in bottom of fridge

You probably need a new door deal for the freezer. When you cet too much condensation in the freezer, it drains down the back of the refrigerator section during the defrost cycle. Check under the produce bins for a drain. If you don't have one, you're not alone. I used to have have to wipe mine out every other day until I finally replaced the seal.

Frigidaire Side-By-Side Refrigerator Leaks Water on Floor

I don't have the same refrigerator, but had a similar issue with a GE. Melt the ice at the bottom of the freezer. I think the water comes from the auto defrost feature. There should be a hole at the back bottom of the freezer that water would go into, and run to an evaporator pan under the refrigerator. The tube may be blocked that allows this water to drain, so it is backing up in the bottom of the freezer, and overflowing through the front bottom of the freezer to your floor.
