Question about Shaw Robert RS-9420 Thermostat

1 Answer

We had a reverse problem with our Robert Shaw thermostat we left the thermostat setting at 52 so the pipes wont freeze we wore gone for a week, when we got back the up-stairs wore over 100 the thermostat was blinking at 99 we try to shot it off at the thermostat unit but will not turn off so we had to turn off the main electric switch, what can cause the thermostat to get stuck at such high temperature.

Same thing happened to mine, it was replaced and the new one did the same thing about a year later. Needless to say it was no longer under warranty, which is no problem as I will not have another Robertshaw 9420 installed in my home. Very dangerous, especially if you are not home and it goes up to 99 or higher...

Our Robert Shaw thermostat 9520 just went blank. Do you have any ideas, nothing is working?

Try replacing the batteries.

Remove the cover by using a coin or screwdriver to prise it off. Insert the coin at the left side between the backing plate and the the cover, and twist.

Romove old batteries and insert new ones.
