Question about Canon EOS 40D Digital Camera
My 40d froze up during an all day soccer shoot last saturday. I was shoting with the 100-400 Canon IS L lens. I turned the camera on and off, removed and replaced the batteiries, tired different lenses, change memory cards and still the dreaded "Error 99 Code". Please help!
Error 99 can be several things. Try the following. Check that the contacts on the lens housing are clean if not clean them with a swab of denatured alcohol available at walmart. also if there is extremely cold weather your shutter could be creating the error. Try using a blow dryer and on the warm setting warm up the camera with the lens off. Blow around the mirror area. I know it sounds silly but it has worked in the past. Good luck.
