Tried to get rid of ca parental control so went into tinyurl.com/uninstall. When I went to reinstall ca security it didnt install firewall and continues to reboot now. NT Authority system is what keeps turning off my computer.

The message it gives is that it is shutting down and NT Authority sysem is doing it because the remote procedure terminated unexpectantly. I tried again this morning to do it through the safe mode and it keeps doing the same thing even through that. The error code is 1073741819

Hi,

The reason it didn't install the firewall is because, possible that it detected a firewall installed in your computer. Example, the windows firewall is enabled or other firewall is installed like Zone Alarm etc.

The reason the computer keeps on rebooting when you just installed the Internet Security Suite is, possible that your computer was infected by a computer virus when you uninstalled Internet Security Suite. That's actually a Blaster Worm.

Since your computer can't even boot to Safe Mode, there's no way that we can remove the virus manually and can even update the Anti Virus to remove it, I felt like you have to redo the Operating System completely. If you have a friend that would care to scan your hard drive for virus, you can do that and try to save your important files as well because you have to prepare for the worst (Reformatting the Hard drive completely and Reinstalling the Operating System)

I want to know whether you are getting any error message? Kindly share the same to provide a solution.

One more thing, while installing the CA security, you may not selected the firewall. Try to boot with safe mode and uninstall the CA security and reboot the system. After reboot, try to install the CA security with firewall selected.

Revert back for more assistance.

I installed pop up catcher instead a log in for parental control pops up, how do I get rid of it

Did you delete the program folder, or did you use Windows 7 to remove the software. Using the control panel software removal tool reaches into the registry and removes the items.

To recover, you may need to reinstall, and then uninstall using an uninstaller program. Windows 7 control panel will do it, or download and install CCleaner or Revo Uninstaller (Free versions) to completely remove the software.

ActiveSync not syncing

Typically this means you have a firewall enabled. If your using Windows XP SP2, make sure that ActiveSync is in the exceptions tab of the Windows Firewall (control panel->windows firewall->exceptions). If your using Norton Internet Security, right click on the globe icon in the system tray (near the clock on your task bar) and choose disable, the try syncronizing again. If your using McAffee Antivirus or the McAffee Firewall, you could try McAffee for help configuring that OR uninstall McAffee, uninstall ActiveSync the reinstall ActiveSync then install McAffee and do all of your Antivirus and Firewall definitions updates.
