Question about Husqvarna Viking 1

1 Answer

I have had the Mega Quilter for about two years, and a Grace Frame for about 1-1/2 years. The machine works great on the tabletop, but I have never been able to get it to work properly on the frame. Originally, the thread kept breaking, but I think I've figured that problem out. Now, the machine just stops or slows down for no reason. I installed a Grace Sure Stitch Electronic Stitch Length Regulator, but still having problems.

My top thread on the mega quilter keeps looping big loops on the backing and the quilt is on the frame. How do I fix this problem?

I'm not familiar with quilting machines, but I have heard conversations about problems occurring when the fabric sandwich is stretched too tight so it is "trampolining" when it stitches. Also, the needle may need changing. Could be that the thread is too heavy for the needle being used.

JM humble guess!

Which direction should the bobbin move when pulling the thread in the HV Mega Quilter 18x8? Clockwise or counter?

Hold the loaded bobbin case in your left hand and gently pull on the thread. The bobbin will rotate clockwise when correctly loaded.

I'm also sending a link to page 17 of the manual for fututre cross-reference.

Happy quilting!

Each machine is different. Most of the machines that are electronic have a sensor to shut it off if you place the bobbin on the winder and push the winder into its position to wind. Give it a try. Also, check your spindle at the end to pull it outwards or attempt to untighten like you do a jar. This is the old mechanical machine but it is possible this machine uses it. Next you must look on your monitor for a particular symbol that represents the bobbin. This would likely be a button to turn it off and on.

I have the Mega Quilter and Quilters Cruise Control. My stitches are very inconsistent.

I agree to have the regulator check, & even having the whole machine checked wouldn't hurt.

HV mega quilter hand wheel won't turn and it won't turn on

it could be the switch or motor, it would be a good idea to have the machine checked

Bobin thread wads up. I have a viking mega quilter and frame. I have removed all the threads several times, but each time I try to quilt, the cruise control can only move about an inch, and the bobbin has...

just a thought but maybe your bobbin thread is wound on to loose, try to rewind it holding onto the thread to give a tigher tension while going onto the bobbin

am I right that the feed dogs do not drop on this machine?

Yes, this is correct....but you have to change the needle plate to a thicker one, so the feed dogs will be below the needle plate.
