Question about Keurig B50 Coffee Maker

The pivot mechanizm is worn out, can I find replacement parts?

We have had our B50 for a few years now and the pivot basket is wearing out. It sticks when the handle is being pulled up to remove the k-cup. The needle on the bottom is also breaking. Where can I find parts to rebuild it? Or is it a done deal and I have to toss it.....

First gear feels like 3rd gear, second gear is not going in, its a manual transmition

Check yoyur gear linkages and joints for wear and missing bushes, bent brackets or worn pivots. If there is no wear or play on any of these external parts you could have bent or worn gear selectors in the gearbox itself.

Clock Bushing Replacement

-One of the most common stoppage problem is caused by increased friction and mostly due to lack of incorrect amount of or lack of oil. If discovered in time, the movement can be cleaned and oiled with only high quality Clock oil, then it will be good for another 5 years or so. Insufficient lubricants eventually cause wear in the pivot holes and/or bushings.
-After a pivot is worn it will change the depth of the wheels and pinions to such an extent that the power train will stop due to improper gear meshing. Wear causes a pivot hole to become egg shaped.

-One testis to completely let off the power from the power train and rock the main wheel back and forth. Then you will clearly see the pivots that have the problem jumping back and forth.

Sample one:
Sample two:
Examples of EGG Shaped pivots above.

-One rule of thumb used by many repair persons, if a bushing is worn one third or more the diameter of the pivot it needs to be replaced.
-Above is Two example of a worn pivot's [note the black gum med up oil around the pivot in photo above]. This is a dead give away of a potential problem.

centerline PIVOT

-Before disassembly, mark all bushings that need replacement in the correct geometrical direction of centerline.
-Complete disassembly of movement is required.
-Then you will need to file out the exact opposite direction with a small file, this will ensure that when you start drilling out the hole it will be centerline.
-Set-up the drill press and lock the plate on to the drill press making sure you find the centerline of the original pivot hole. Use a steel short stock the same diameter of the old pivot and chuck it in the drill press after the plate is secure, select the proper bushing that you intend to press in.

-With a small broach taper slightly the inter plate before the insertion of the bushing. Do this from the inside of the plate, this will ensure that the bushing will never fall out.
image008.jpg bushpress.jpg

-Select a bushing that is a bit undersized after it is pressed into place, then open the hole up to the correct diameter.
-Use the drill press to push in the new bushing from the inside plate out.
-Be sure to broach out the pivot bushing in both directions, this will leave the hole in an hour glass shape ”===)I(===” and will reduce friction.

- Counter Sinking is very important and not only needed to hold the oil in place but also to reduce the amount of actual friction on the pivot. [Note:] don't get carried away the first gears tend to have a lot of torque on them and a lot of bushing surface is needed; however, the final pivots do not and are very sensitive to friction.
-Barrel Bushings, these are often overlooked. This is an example of a bushing before and after replacement.

Hope this tip helps.

I have a loud tapping valve can i use an additiveto fix problem

If you have a hydraulic lifter that is sticking, sometimes marvel oil or lucas engine additive will help. If the noise is caused by wear at the rocker pivot or the lifter/camshaft, it will not. No chemical can replace a worn part.

My rear brake on my tw sticks on, when used, therefore cant use it at the mo, ive no technical knowledge so is there an easy way to sort this?

Yeah, here's what to check: If the problem isn't a simple matter of something in need of lubrication, like the brake pedal pivot, then the problem you describe usually means that the rear brake shoes are worn out.
Take a look at the amount of brake adjustment that's been used on the brake rod, if the adjuster is threaded more than about 50% up the brake rod, then the shoes are worn out.
As the brake shoes wear down, the cam that spreads them apart has to turn farther and farther - until it gets close to a 90 degree angle between the shoes and becomes stuck.
Remove the rear wheel and replace the brake shoes. While you're in there, be sure to apply a small amount of high temp grease to the brake cam and its pivot bushing.

My jeep ticks constantly and the front end shakes

likely two unrelated problems. If you have good oil pressure (usually around 40psi) your lifters are sticking or you have wear on lifters, cam, rocker pivots (pick one). Cure can be as simple as using marvel oil in each oil change or replacing whatever has worn. Front end should be thoroughly checked for wear, wheel balance should be checked, tires checked for broken belts etc. Again, change anything that show up as bad.

Brew basket? I believe also called the cup holster. Call Keurig, I got the replacement from them. I didn't find it anywhere else. So far it was free of charge.

The plastic casing (tub shell) around the stainless spin basket should not become worn unless the spin basket is hitting the outer shell. From my past experience, this is usually caused by a cracked or broken spin basket support (spider) arm on the back of the spin basket, or a shot tub bearing (which is also behind the spin basket). The bearing is actually part of the rear tub shell and is molded into the plastic. It cannot be replaced separately and requires the replacmeent of the shell.

If the spin basket supports become broken, the basket becomes off balance and rubs against the outer shell. This results in excessive vibration, which may be the reason why the support shocks were broken. No...this is not normally expected. Unfortnately, this is not a simple or inexpensive repair, either. If you have a service plan, or warranty coverage, I would recommend pursuing that as a repair option. If you wish to repair this yourself, I can post a link for you to follow, but it is expensive. This will usually require the replacement of the following parts:

Spin Basket
Rear Tub Shell (if bearing is bad)
Front Tub Shell (if spin basket caused significant damage)
Support Shocks (I would recommend replacing all 4)

Drive Belt Pulley (can become warped or bent)
Drive Belt (if showing signs of wear)
Rubber Door Bellow (if vibration as caused damage to the rubber)

You can go to and type in your model number to get prices for everything if you like. Everything can be found under the "Tub and Basket Parts" heading, with the exception of the rubber door bellow. It can be located under the "Door and Latch Parts" heading.

I know none of this sounds like positive news, but I do hope you find some of this information helpful. Let me know if you need further assistance.

Basket will not turn

Try pulling out the center of the drum, this is usually where you put the fabric softener. Inside are little "elbow" type parts, they have teeth on them and they need to be replaced every few years as the teeth wear down the clothes won't get shimmy around in the drum.
