Hi,
That message means that the part of the printer that moves the cartridges from side to side has a problem and can not move. Try turning off the printer and removing the ink carts and see if the carrier moves freely from side to side if it does then maybe its a sensor problem and if it does not move freely then maybe something is blocking in it.

Two solutions for you: 1)There seems to be a coating on the metal rod that the cartridges travel on. See it back there? With the power disconnected, wipe this rod with a kleenex and the problem seems to go away. It presents a drag on the cartridges and causes the problem. You might have to GENTLY forcibly slide the cartridge a bit to each side to finish cleaning the rod. ONLY DO THIS WITH THE POWER OFF!! 2) Or you can also turn off your printer, then slide the cartriges all the way to the left, and GENTLY wipe the encoding strip running right behind the cartrige carrier.(it will look like a translucent piece of plastic strip in most printers). Wipe it down with a soft cloth gently, then slide the cartriges all the way to the right, and repeat this process. When you are done, simply close the cover, power back up, and see if it will print a test page for you. ZT3000 "Beta tester of "0"s and "1's"
