Question about Panasonic KX TG2583S Cordless Phone (KX-TG2583S)
I have a panasonic TG2583B and the handset has recently sounding somehow jammed while in use. Strangely enough the base system is okay with the speaker and the handset performs all its functions including the dialling and sending different requests to the base unit but the sound is so distorted its totally uncomprehensible. I have already pursued the standard trouble shooting methods, including changing the land line, the battery and making sure no cordless jammer is active in the area but to no avail.
I have been wondering if this version of Panasonic much like the ones with two headsets supports a way to re-introduce the headset to the base for improved performance and sound quality. I have checked the accompaning manual but there is no such entry under any of its chapters, so I decided to check with you people to see if you have a hint to help me out of the ditch.
Thank you one, thank you all, in advance that is.

press function button on handset, scroll to initial setting, select by pressing right arrow, scroll to registration, select, select hs registration, follow directions on handset display, pressing mute on "new" base station, and ok on handset(plugged in). If you like, you can unregister with the "old" base unit first.

My 1740 handset volume was also low. As a shot in the dark I changed the speaker and it fixed the problem. I got a new speaker from www.panasonic.com .

Panasonic KX-TG1050N Cordless Phone. Base handset (No. 1, KX-TGA100N) does not work, no keypad response or dial tone. Green indicator message light ON (should only work with the TG1000N base unit) all the time till battery runs down. Display shows message ?C533?. Can still send and receive calls on extension phones 2 and 3.

These phones are digital proprietary telephones which means that they only work on panasonic telephone systems and not on normal analog lines. If you have a panasonic system the correct way is to plug the line into the " To Main Unit ", the handset into " Handset/Headset" and a normal analog phone into " To Tel ". If the wiring on the line jack was not done digitally the phone will also not work
