Suddenly my acer netbook stopped seeing the intuos tablet

It had been working fine all along, when yesterday i plugged the tablet (just a basic intuos) into my acer netbook (new for xmas) and it did not see the tablet. i reinstalled the drivers but to no avail. i know the tablet works because i tried on another computer. i have a different model tablet (intuos 3) that i also tried to use and the computer could not see that one either. Any suggestions on what happened or how i can resolve the problem? thanks!

Sometimes if you have been plugging the tablet into the same USB port and then you plug it into a different USB port this can cause the operating system to stop recognizing it. The first thing I suggest is to make sure that it is plugged into the same USB port that you were originally plugging it into. Now re-boot the netbook with the tablet connected. Once the computer re-boots completely you will need to go into the control panel. Then under "Hardware and Sound" click the "add a device". Windows should start trying to locate connected devices. Once it has located the tablet you should be able to install the device and it should re-install the drivers automatically. Let me know if that works or if you have any other questions.

I am not saying that the USB port is bad just that the operating system may have change the port location for the tablet driver to one that is being used by other hardware already. This happens with other devices like printers ect. Did you try what I told you to do and what was the results? Did windows locate the Tablet device?

You may want to try a powered usb hub. Sometimes this can be the issue. If it doesn't work you can always return the hub to the store you buy it from.(check the stores return policy to make sure). It is very possible that it is some conflict having to do with windows 7. What was the operating system of the other computer you tried it on? I would troubleshoot until you isolate where the problem is lying.
Thank you,
Lee

    Hi,
Before you go and give a bad rating/not accept my solution it would really be proper to at least make an attempt to answer any of my questions. Without input from you there is no help that anyone could give you. If you could answer some of my questions we may be able to isolate the problem. I hope you will reconsider and give this an honest attempt.
    Thanks again,
    Lee

Is the USB port enabled in the BIOS?
Have you used the USB successfully in the past?
Do you have the CORRECT driver installed for your O/S?
If its a new XMas notebook - it is likely windows 7 O/S ?
Is there a windows 7 driver for the tablet?

Wacom Intuos 3 problems

Hi Bengref
Just talked to WACOM USA about a similar (but not exactly the same) problem with my Intuos 3. One of their procedures was;

go to the ALL Programs directory,

go to the the WACOM TABLET directory

open the WACOM Tablet Properties window

click on the "About" button

while holding down the CTRL key, click on the "Diagnose" button

click on the "recalibrate" button

Another procedure

go to the All Programs Directory

go to the WACOM Tablet Directory

click on the :WACOM Table Preference File Utility"

Under "My Preferences" click on remove

Good Luck

Intuos 3 Pen/Stylus suddenly stopped working (as in dead).

Will the tablet work with the mouse? If it does not, is not working is the blue LED light on. If the LED is not working try another usb port. If the mouse works go into the Wacom tablet properties from the start menu. Select the grip pen from the tools. Click on the default button to restore the stylus to factory settings. When you press the pen you should see the pressure scale rise. You can also test the eraser pressure. You could also replace the stylus tip to see if that works. From the Wacom site you can order a new stylus or tips if it is found defective.

Wacom tablet won't recognize pen

Hmm. I've had a similar thing happen with my tablet. Have you tried removing the tablet pen from the list of tools in tablet preferences and then adding it to the list again before checking the 'About' section of the tablet pen set-up and clicking the 'diagnose' button there in? As that worked for me when my tablet pen was not working. The pen was recognized by the tablet after that.

Wacom tablet stopped working, blue light on.

Hey I had this problem too with my Bamboo too, I'm not sure if it was anything I changed or whatever but either way the blue light was on but it wasn't registering the pen.

I found a way just minutes ago to fix it however!

Go into 'start', 'all programs', then look for 'pen tablet'. Hopefully you should have this. If not then download the latest driver for your tablet from the wacom website and that should install it.

Next choose 'pen tablet preference file utilty'. Then under 'my preferences' choose to remove. Bingo! All was well in the world again.

This worked for me so hopefully it will for some of you guys too! Good luck!
