The diagram is for v6. The top wire at blower motor is voltage, the bottom wire is ground. Use a test light and check both voltage and ground. Key on--hvac on. If you have good voltage and ground with no blower action, suspect the blower motor. The blower motor is usually under the passenger side dash.
Roger it sounds like the blower motor is not comming on. There is a resistor network located in the engine compartment on the passenger side mounted to the firewall, that controlls the blower motor. The connections may have corroted or the unit itself is bad. That was the first thing I had to relpace when I got my used 92 Dakota. There is also a 30 amp fuse in the fuse box under the dash board . If that is blown I would suspect the blower motor is seized up or just pulling too much power.
FIRST THING MAKE SURE YOU CHECK ALL FUSES UNDER DASH AND IN POWER DISTRIBUTOIN BOX UNDER HOOD LET ME KNOW TAKE TEST LIGHT SEE IF ANY VOLTAGE ON MOTOR IF SO BAD MOTOR IF NO VOLTAGE THEN LOCATE THE BLOWER MOTOR RESISTOR FOR SPEED CONTROL....COMMON PROBLEM... THIS COULD BE LOCATED UNDER DASH ON PASSENGER SIDE IN THE HEATER CORE BOX OR UNDER HOOD PASSENGER SIDE NEAR FIRE WALL...THEY ARE ALSO COMMON FOR BURNING OPEN CAUSING NO FAN
it could be that fan rester went out. pick up a repair manual from Napa. look to see if you need to take the dashbord out. some of this are lockated betewn the fire wall and the blower moter housing. i have had a hard time looking for on on the internet.
If all the fuses are good(the blower fuse is usually a 30 amp) the next culprit could be a blower motor resistor. The resistor is normally under the dash with fat wires on it and screwed into the blower housing. You could have a bad motor also.
You have either blown a fuse or the fan simply doesn't work or the switch is bad on the dash.
1. Check fuse
2. try and check fan , use diagnostics as described in manual, get online or from library or kragen
3. if fan works or tests good, might be dash issue, which will me dissassembly.
good luck
please vote on this solution.
The blend door in the heater box itself is what directs the air to where it needs to go as per selector switch. The heater box is located under the dash.
