Question about Logitech Cordless Desktop EX110

3 Answers

I have a problem with my logitech cordless desktop EX110 - the repeating zeros which eventually take over whatever application I am using. Multiple zeros automatically populate any field and the computer starts beeping.

The advice I received is actually ridiculous. This seems to be a known problem as I have found other postings with the same comments. I don't have a stuck key and have just bought the keyboard. I will be taking it back and asking for my money back if I cannot find a solution. It makes using my computer impossible.

You may also like to reconsider and review some of the other postings on your site which are reporting the exact same problem with this product. It seems highly unlikely that they would all have a stuck key or have spilled something on the keyboard. I'm not sure how much more information you would like. The problem starts out slowly with zeros being interspersed between typed characters and builds to a point where it automatically populates anything with zeros and the application becomes unusuable.

Note these other postings on your site with the same problem:

I'd really like someone to consider this as a problem with the software and look for a solution there. I reject all the responses so far.

  • desperado52 Feb 04, 2010

This was the most helpful solution to date at least recognising that it is an issue, and providing other potential causes (ie wireless devices). We do have a wireless router nearby so possibly there is interference from this.

Well it looks like it is a common problem but there is no information from logitech for a fix. You could try downloading the latest software and drivers from here http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/433/154&cl=US,EN?section=downloads if you have not already. The problem sometimes with wireless devices is that other devices can interfere with them. Sometimes baby monitors, cordless phones ect. can cause strange things to happen. If the driver/software update does not work and you have installed fresh batteries then the best advice might be to return the product for a different model. I actually have two seperate wireless keyboard sets that are both Logitech and have not had any problems with them(several years old) so the problem might be isolated to your paticular model. Let me know if you have any questions and thanks for using FixYa.

Could the 0 button be broken?
Determine which 0 it is by turning NUM lock off.
Pop the 0 in question off the keyboard and examone for debris inside the keyhole.

Thanks!!

Hi,
It sounds like you have a stuck key. Have you tried messing with your zero key at all? Has there been any liquids spilled onto the keyboard? Beyond the basic troubleshooting you will want to consider replacement as these can be bought brand new for quite cheap.
Thank you,
Lee

I have an ex110 setup that works fine. If you just bought it then I would definitely return it for either another one or a refund and purchase a comparable unit. You may consider the response ridiculous but it takes the appropriate information to get the appropriate answer if you know what i mean. Also what operating system are you running? Have you tried the keyboard and mouse on another computer to isolate the problem? You may also want to try the latest software from logitech
    http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/433/15...
If you need further assistance please let me know, also please reconsider and accept/rate my solution accordingly.
    Thanks again,
    Lee

    Hi,
I am not sure what it is you expect the experts to do. but I would keep your expectations realistic. I did consider a software problem which is why I gave you a link to the latest software on their website. Like I have already said. if you just bought it then return it for another one. See if you get the same problem with the a replacement of the same model. Then you will be isolating the problem. Until you have the problem isolated there isn't much anyone can do. Honestly it sounds like either a conflict or an issue with that specific keyboard.
    Thank you,
    Lee

Cant get the keyboard to connect on my logitech ex110

Hi, Please use the connect utility to re-sync after battery swap or unexpected disconnection :
ftp://ftp.logitech.com/pub/techsupport/mouse/
Then depend which version of set point you are using, I recommend you to upgrade to set point 6 setpoint600.exe 23.7 MB 25/02/2010 13:48:00

Then start menu -> Logitech -> Mouse and keyboard -> connect utility
Thanks and have a nice day Julien

I have the same problem, except mine becomes uncontrollable as the zeros take over. Applications stop working, and the computer starts to beep loudly.

Unfortunately I was unable to resolve the problem. One of your experts advised me that there was no current solution from Logitech but that other wireless devices might be causing interference. I have removed the mouse and keyboard and gone back to my old mouse and keyboard with wires. The problem has not recurred. I will be taking the product back for a refund.

Click on the link below to get the Windows ME driver. Although Windows ME is supported, there's a chance the disc didn't come with the ME driver. Best of luck!
