First a few questions?

Does the power light on the front of the set come on for a moment and go off?

The set has one regular fuse at the power cord and several soldered in pico fuses that protect it.

If power light comes on for a few seconds and goes off--do the self check this set has:

When power light goes off press and hold both the Menu and Input buttons on the front of the set at the same time for at least 5 seconds and release---power light will blink a two digit error code--

The most common is 2 blinks, a pause and 2 blinks; set will repeat this at least 5 times and to get it to repeat it you have to unplug set and try to turn on again.

Let me know what you find.

Look for pico fuses that are soldered in and examine the circuit board that the power cord goes to.

See photo of what pico fuses look like attached here.

The glass fuse where the power cord goes should be in a holder--it pulls out----ALL THE PICO FUSES ARE SOLDERED IN PARTS.

They all can be tested just like any fuse before removing anything.

Understand---if you find a blown fuse you MAY or MAY NOT have a problem that took it out. If the fuse at the power cord--sometimes a power outage or surge takes it out.

The fuse will be inside the TV, you have to remove the back cover not the cord.

Value in amps will be marked in two places (I presume the fuse is blown?)

on one end of the fuse it will be stamped in tiny letters

on the circuit board where it plugs in you will see 5A, 6A, 8A, 10A etc.

Easy way is use a magnifier glass and look carefully at the metal cap on both ends of the fuse for 250v 5A etc.

Is the fuse Blown? I have to go for 20 minutes but will return.

hi,
Error code 2-2 indicates "Short Protect Circuit" problem in tv.
Need to check pico fuses in power supply as one or two got blown due to bad convergence chips.
Below is an exploded view of tv chassis, power supply and convergence area has been marked to give you better idea to look for pico fuses.
Unplug tv from wall socket before to repair/check any thing inside tv.
Hope these info will help you.
Let me know if you have additional question.
Thanks.

Need the fuse number for my mitsubishi tv model wt-42311. Hte fuse is located in the back next to the power cord for the power source.

mainitpa2,

The voltage and current rating for the fuse should be marked on the circuit board directly below it or very near to it. The majority of fuses in TVs these days are GMA type. If your unit blew a fuse chances are that a new one will also blow at turn on if no troubleshooting was done to find a short. It will not harm the unit to try a new, correctly sized fuse, but don't be surprised if it blows immediately. I have a tip at http://www.fixya.com/support/r6396176-projection_tv_troubleshooting which will help you with the troubleshooting process.

Thanks for using FixYa and for a great rating.

Mitsubishi tv model wt-42311, error code 2-2. what can i do?

2,2 IS short protection and 95% chance it means one of the two pico fuses that protect the convergence IC chips are bad.

This model uses two of the chips: STK-392-110 and you would have to pull the light box out to replace them safely (total parts cost will be under 30 dollars).

It involves getting at the chips and the fuses and replacing them: how much skill do you have?

WT-42313 - Won't turn on. TV gives and error code of 24. I found that this is an issue with vertical deflection. I need to know how to repair this issue.

Ck pico fuse F9A05 5amps it will be green or yellow looks like resistor if bad, replace Both STK ICs STK394-250 and 2 resistors R8c13 &14 3.9ohms also resolder all 3 yoke plugins on board.

Thanks for your help with the Mitsubishi WT 46809 but, there is more:

Fuses and IC's are soldered in on large PC board in center of chassis....
Your model is a tight fit that is usually repaired by chassis pull first, then
board repair, normally by a skilled Mits tech........
