SOURCE: Sony HT-CT100 soundbar + STR-DG720 = Yes misery, no audio

It's not going to do whayt you want. On the premise that you can't run a dedicated receiver to a dedicated receiver. One processor is not going to override another. The soundbar is a "self contained" closed system. Much like Bose products. I understand what you are looking for, it just can't be done with this product. Options: replace the sony soundbar with a passive polk soundbar or similar and keep the AV receiver or: Return the AV receiver and use the nice, but limited sony amplified soundbar. Hope this helps

SOURCE: My TV is a Sony

I looked at the requirements for your system.According to Sony,it needs to be connected to a SOURCE which is connected with HDMI.In other words, your DVD or Blue-ray needs to be connected HDMI to the TV,then you plug your Soundbar system into that audio's output SOURCE(DVD or blue ray). The SOURCE will get it's audio input from the TV,but the output goes to the CT150.I hope I explained it well enough. If you have any questions, just comment here before you approve/disapprove because that cuts off our link.I will get an autolink to your post and will reply ASAP. Greg With no picture on the blue-ray,I think you have some wrong connections too.I will have to find out how everything is hooked up and tell you what may be wrong. If you tell me,I can do it.Example,TV out to DVD in,DVD out to cable in,etc.I also would need to know if your DVD player is used for recording, whether DVD,VCR, or just plain incapable.

My new Vizion tv has a vizion sound bar, the sound comes out with an echo, how do I correct?

Your TV speakers should be turned all the way down or off when you use a separate sound system such as a soundbar. Using them with the soundbar may cause echoes and the TV speakers do nothing to improve the sound.

Look at your TV's audio menu. If you can, turn the TV speakers off completely at the menu. Also see if you can set the analog audio output to "variable." This will allow you to control the soundbar's volume with the TV remote.

Pyle #PSBV200 soundbar there's no optical in on back of soundbar,my tv on back of it, does'nt have audio out, to plug in red&white cables, what do i do?

Check if you have coax output (orange colour socket) on TV and soundbar if you have you can link them together for digital audio, if not check if you have a headpone socket if so you can buy an adpter from headpones to phono connectors (your red & white) but be aware that when you turn the volume up via TV remote control it will turn up the volume on the soundbar.

hook your dvd player up to the tv via hdmi, then take the optical audio output from you tv to the soundbar. Make sure to enable to audio output jack in the tv setup menu as some manufacturers disable this jack by default.

You have to use the TV remote to set the TV sound option to external. Look on TV setup menu for 'external output' or 'external speakers'.

How to get my Sony HT-CT60 Sound Bar Home Theater programmed to my GCI Cable remote?

This worked for me, but I have a Comcast Motorola DVD-R:
These are the codes for your SONY SA-CT60 Audio Device. Follow the instructions below to program your remote.
silver_with_red_ok_button-lg.gif Most likely code: 30158
Others to try: 31758, 31759
To program your Comcast remote:
  1. Turn on the TV or other device that you would like to program.
  2. Press the TV button on your remote control.
NOTE: If you would like to program your remote control to work with a DVD Player, VCR or Audio device press the AUX button.
  3. Press and hold Setup until the red light blinks twice, then release Setup.
  4. Enter the first code for your device listed above. If you perform this procedure correctly, the red light will blink twice.
NOTE: If you enter an invalid code, the red light will display one long blink and exit the programming mode. Repeat steps 2 to 4 with a valid code.
  5. Aim the remote control at your device and press Power once (press the Play key for devices that don't have a POWER button). If the TV turns off, make sure that the VOL+/- and Mute buttons also work. If so, you're all set!
  6. If not, repeat these steps using the next manufacturer's code (you may need to try several codes to find the one that works).

I need the remote code for the insignia sound bar to use with my verizon fios remote control

Jeff Phillips What I did was connec the soundbar audio directly to the Verizon STB audio out and changed the remote to control the STB volume instead of the TV. Then I plugged the soundbar into the switched outlet on the back of the verizon STB.

Macbook Pro DVI---> HDMI + Digital Optical Out = Problem w/ Sound

On the Sony The HDMI takes "priority" over all others, that's why you loose audio. If you run your DVI/HDMI to the TV and optical to the soundbar that would fix your issue. If your TV does not have Multiple HDMI inputs, you can get a DVI/Component adapter for your MBP then run it to the TV, or, If you have to have HDMI just to have HDMI, you can get a 2:1 HDMI switch and still have optical to your soundbar. Make sense? If youneed more help, just post a comment and I'll help some more.
