Question about Kohler Plumbing

Open Question

I have a kohler forte shower body and valve. It's not even a year old and the shower body keeps coming loose. It looks like the piece that you tighten to keep the shower body connected to the walls comes loose when I turn the shower handle to the left. The more I use the shower, the looser it gets. After I tighten it, it will hold for a while but will eventually come loose again. Is this a common problem and how can I fix it? Thank you.

SOURCE: Kohler shower valve (hot/cold switched)

Just had this same thing, on this exact faucet. If you still have the manual, it has instructions on how to rotate the valve for back to back installations where one shower has the hot/cold reversed. Our contractor got ours in backwards the first time and I had to call and have them come out and rotate the valve this morning.

Just lost pressure. Only a very small stream of water comes out, hot or cold. All other faucet in the house work fine. It is about 1 1/2 years old. R10433-CP

First try the tip ariator. it can plug up. then you have to check the inlet system, which includes shut off valves, hoses to the faucet and the cartridge. It is the cartridge that has the small openings, but shut off valve seat material falls back into the feed channel. I usually remove cartridge, cover with a towel and turn on feed water briefly. Often I get little pieces.

Turn off your water supply to the sink the disconnect the supply lines to the faucet. Reconnect supply lines making sure to use plumbers pipe joint compound of teflon tape. I've found teflon tape to be better. When installing the supply lines make sure that the threads aren't crossed and the retaining nut is snug.

Kohler forte single control kitchen, low colder water pressure

1. If it is old enough, it is time to replace the control cartridge.

2. Check your supply stops under the counter, check that they are both supplying full pressure.

Have whoever installed the shower set come back and fix the diverter. It should be a relatively simple adjustment.
