I keep losing my network connection with my D-link WBR 2310

I'm having connection issues with the above wireless router. I've had my cable modem (modem/telephone combo) checked twice and no problems there. I don't lose my phone service either so I believe the issue is on the router side. Any ideas? I have Win xp, Win 7, and vista PC's hard wired to the router. The vista and win7 pcs are the ones with the connection issues. I also have an XP laptop and HP Printer which connect wireless. I have no issues xp wise or printer wise with this router and it's been happening the last 2 or three months.

I'm at the latest firmware version, Not so sure that's not what caused the issue. Do you think going back one version would be a good test? I've already reset it a couple of times and am running as simple a config as there is ( basically nothing)so I'm scratching. a sidenote is I replaced another dlink with this one because it was doing the exact same thing.

What model?

I had problems with my DIR-655, did a firmware update and it fixed everything.

    Ron,

Are you loosing connection to the local area network, IE computer coming completely disconnected and the it automatically reconnects, OR is it the router loosing connection to the internet?

I would increase your DHCP lease time in the settings of your router.

The 2310 is not a great router, but there is not reason it should drop-out.

Let me know the details and we'll get to the bottom of it,

    Cheers

    Kevin

Try upgrading the Routers firmware settings, before you do that make sure that you take down the settings , as you will have to resetup your network .

Hi my d-link 2310 wbr you can see it's working but no signal for the wireless

There are Old computers cant conect to the higher frequencies of the new routers so if you have tested the router on a newer computer and its working i suggest you either:

1. connect by cable.
2. buy a new network card.
3. buy a new computer.

(Also the antenna can be lose or be broken just screw it lose and check.)

After cable co. split cable and installed another modem, D-Link WBR 2310 router no longer works with its original modem. Tried resetting, unplugging, etc. Can't get wireless.

Use an Ethernet cable to connect your computer to one of the LAN ports.
Click Start
Click Run
Type CMD
Press Enter
Type IPCONFIG
Press Enter
Look for a line of output like:

Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 123.468.32.1

Start Internet Explorer
Type http://123.468.32.1
Press Enter
Login to your router
Click to run the "Wireless Networking Setup Wizard", to:
1. set an SSID
2. set an encryption-level, e.g., 'WPA' or 'WPA2'
3. set a password for your network
Click OK to restart your computer

Use your wireless device to connect to that SSID, using that password that you set.]

D-Link router does not connect to my laptop

remove the cat5 cable end that goes from your internet connected computer to your router; remove the end of this cable from your router ; remove your modem to router cable end from your modem put the internet computer cable into where the router cable was in the modem; unplug then: plug in your modem; wait for the modem to reboot; verify that the internet computer is online then swap the cables back where they were
you should now be able to connect your laptop wirelessly to the internet.

I assme you have a DSL or cable modem from Comcast and this is connected to the wall. The LAN cable from this modem should now be connected to the WAN/Internet port on the DLink wireless router.

I can't access manually my wbr-2310 (modem router dsl-500b)

you need to configure the wireless on the router through a cable connection at first. after logging in on the router (default admin login and password should be mentioned in the router's manual) you can enable the wireless and the DHCP. to access the router, open an internet browser window and surf to the address http://192.168.0.1, where you will be asked to fill in the admin password.
please keep us posted on any evolution

How to set up vonage my wbr-2310 router and 2wire ATnT modem

2wire routers will only work with another device (router) if you will set it up to bridge mode. you need to go to the ip address of 2wire and check the box to enable routing.
