Question about Akai LCT2660 26 in. HD-Ready LCD Television
I have a 26" flat screen that we have had for about 2 years. A few days ago we were watching the tv and half the screen is blurry and the color is off. This happens when we use DVD player. The screen is literally split in half. The left sides color is off. The right side is fine.
We can clearly see the split in the screen when the TV turns on.
The right ride of the screen is a clean blue the right is purple like and has the distortion and horizontal lines? What is wrong? How can this be happening?
That sounds like your LCD controller, since the LCD screen is so big, they will "split" the screen into 2 smaller screens, otherwise it would be so outrageously expensive to have one big massive lcd controller. Your lcd controller is most likely a two-in-one card though, meaning that there are 2 controllers on one board. You'll more than likely need a new controller card for your tv.
