Question about Sony CPD-G400 Multiscan Trinitron 19" Monitor

Open Question

TRINATRON MULTISCAN 400PS has screen moving slightly in vertical direction for less than 1 day, so I removed it to avoid doing any more damage. CXA2043Q microprocessor chip may be the cause, but it seems that power supply issues are more likely (such as bad caps). A failing power supply is likely to cause eratic behavior in the processor, which will get worse the longer you continue to use the monitor, eventually damaging the processor. Step 1 is to replace the caps in the power supply and test monitor again. Only then do you consider replacing the processor. Is this theory correct?

SOURCE: Hello!Sony SDM-HS73 power-inverter problem

At this point you may have bad transformers, bad tuning cap, you need to check the frequency of the inverter oscillator to see if both of them are running at the same frequency, the bad one may not be. The Inverter/power supply is not made by SONY, Powernet makes the board. Please see what went wrong with the one I fixed.

One thing to keep in mind, when the board turn into carbon (blacken), it will conduct. The circuits operate at high voltage and high frequency.

Can I clean my ViewSonic LCD Monitor (VE510b) with water (using cloth)? Please tell me easy procedure of cleaning my ViewSonic LCD Monitor screen. email: amdesh1@gmail.com

Hi

Time Required:
Cleaning a flat screen (LCD) monitor usually takes less than 5 minutes Here's How:
  1. Turn off the monitor. If the screen is dark, it will be easier to see the areas that are dirty or oily.
  2. Use a dry, soft cloth and very gently wipe the screen. A great choice would be the microfiber type of cloth used to clean eyeglasses.
See Tip #1 below for kinds of cloths to avoid.
  3. If the dry cloth did not completely remove the dirt or oil, do not press harder in an attempt to scrub it off.
Pushing directly on the LCD screen can often cause pixels to burn out.
  4. If necessary, dampen the cloth with distilled water or with an equal ratio of distilled water to white vinegar.
Many companies also sell small spray bottles of special cleaner for flat screen monitors but the vinegar mixture is usually just as effective.
See Tip #2 below for products to avoid.
  5. The plastic edge that surrounds the screen can be cleaned with any multipurpose cleaner but take care to avoid contact with the screen itself.
Tips:
  1. Avoid using paper towels, toilet paper, tissue paper, or something like your shirt to wipe the LCD screen. These non-ultrasoft materials can scratch the screen.
  2. Avoid cleaning products that contain ammonia, ethyl alcohol, acetone, toluene, ethyl acid, or methyl chloride. These chemicals can react with the materials that the LCD screen is made of which could yellow the screen or cause other kinds of damage.
  3. Never spray liquid directly on the LCD screen or it could run inside the monitor and cause damage.

How to clean the screen

Hi there, use only plain water (no cleaning agents) to (slightly) moisten a clean towel, then Gently wipe the screen in a up and down motion, going in same direction the ribs on the screen are running (vertical), this will keep from damaging the screen while cleaning. Avoid using paper towels, they tend to leave behind some tiny particles.

White lines on top of screen?

1.Check first if the problem occurs in all channels on your tv, if not the problem is on your tv receiver or tuner to IF section to video section. But if the problem occurs on all channel the problem is in vertical section.
note : In this case its better not to operate the unit inorder to avoid the damage of vertical IC which presently struggling because of loss contact.
1.The problem is loss contact on vertical section of your tv. Usually loss contact on vertical IC, resoldering it well and right can remedy the problem. Try also find a bulging capacitor and replace it.

TV BLACK SCREEN WITH THE POWER ON.

It needs repair.
If the line is vertical, then something is damaged on its horizontal circuit section on the mainboard.
If the line is horizontal, the vertical circuit section is damaged.
have it repaired to a qualified service center or person!
avoid switching it to avoid further damage on other parts!
