Roller ball quit rolling

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

If the ball doesn't seem to rotate as normal, this is likely to be because the HEPA post-filter is out of position. Please take a look at the video below which shows where this filter is located, and how to remove and replace it.

Press the filter firmly into place until you hear and feel a click.

I'm confident this will resolve the issue, but if there's anything further we can help you with you're welcome to contact our experts directly. You can reach us by calling 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US) or 1-877-397-6622 (CA).

you need to use something small to push the red pin right in, make sure there is nothing blocked in the roller and this should reset the motor. The roller needs to be switched on next to the power button is well.

take the roller ball out by poping out the silver ring at the top and look on the bottom of the ball and make sure that all of the black rollers will roll and if not clean them.

Curser jumps all over the place, hard to drag anything and sometimes it double clicks

If this mouse has the roller ball, the rollers it runs on are dirty. Remove the ball and use a q tip to clean all three rollers the ball runs on.

It is also possible that the cable to the moise has broken. This occurs where it flexes.

A person experienced in electronics can shorten the cable slightly to get rid of the bad section.

Trackball will not go down. Pearl 8100

It has been in my experience with the 8100 that if you can't scroll a certain direction, there was debris on the roller preventing it from registering the roll. Turn the phone off, press down on the track ball (as if to press a button) roll the ball down (in your case). This may help dislodge whatever debris is caught in the roller. It has worked for me several times. You may want to try and clean the trackball as well with some rubbing alcohol and a q-tip.

If it were a software problem, then I would imagine you turning off the phone (battery pull) would clear this up anyways.

Best Regards,
Bill

Roller ball

All you have to do is take a sheet of paper with print on it. Take the battery out of you phone. Next do a figure eight motion with the ball side down on the phone about 10 times. There is something on the ink on the paper that will make this work again. good luck

Pearl roller ball

It might be a case where the track ball has some dirt or debris underneath it. First, turn the device off. Next, press down firmly on the track ball while at the same time rolling it in every direction. Hopefully that will knock loose any debris. Another tip to try is to wet your thumb with a little water and do the same thing.

If those two options don't work, you may try taking out the track ball and blowing out the slot with some compressed air. Below is a link that shows how to remove and clean the track ball:
