Put nextal sim card in i290 phone 'boost' and now says please whait to enter special code

although boost is a ppd version of nextel, the sims cards are different and are not interchangeable between devices........you can contact SprintNextel and they will give you the "subsidy unlock" code, which is the special code required for your device to stop looking for a specific sim card. If they wont give you the code then you can google "motorola instant unlock" or whatever brand device it is and chose from the large list of web services that can send you the key for just a few dollars. GOOD LUCK AND PLS RATE THIS POST!!!!!!!

Hi, Welcome to FixYa

This document is also available in PDF format (this PDF has higher qualify images and a password and is not free. It requires purchase, with your purchase, you will receive the HEX file for Raptor Pro that's mentioned in this web page) for easier viewing and printing.

RSS Carrier + iDENPro

Phone Power: On
i-DEN phones are made by Motorola. They use SIM cards and look like GSM phones, but they are not GSM. The most popular iDEN network in the US is Nextel (now with Sprint) and Boost (owned by Nextel)
For most i-Den phones, use the RSS Carrier to put the phone RSS-SIM mode. Then use iDEN Pro.
It is recommended that you use the USB cable for Motorola iDEN phone when using RSS carrier and iDEN pro. Pay attention, the iDEN cable is very similar to the Motorola V600 cable, but a bit wider. So be careful not to confuse them.

RSS Carrier is useful for reading either the six-digit or four-digit phone or user security code. However, the actual unlocking of the Service Provider lock is done with iDEN Pro software.
Once you connected the phone, some times it will prompt you to install the driver, just follow the instruction and install it automatically. If it does not work, try to manually install the driver from the directory, which the Motorola RSS is located.
Assuming the driver has been successfully installed already. You should open the RSS Carrier software, click on File and Read Phone. This should put the phone into RSS-SIM mode.
Now you can exit RSS. Open the iDEN Pro software, and wait for it to detect the phone. Then click on Script | Open Script. Open a file under the iDEN Pro directory called “command3.txt” and then go to Script | Run Script. The phone should restart after the script is finished. Now test with a different SIM card.
Raptor Pro For a long time, Raptor Pro was not updated and stopped supporting any phones newer than the i405. However, recently the Raptor Pro’s hex file has been updated to support almost all i-DEN phones on the market. To unlock, i-DEN i880, i885, Raptor Pro (keep in mind the Hex File can be found under C:\Program Files\Raptor Pro\Hex File) has to be updated to support this type of phone. Make sure a SIM card is insider the phone and the phone should be on and ask for a special subsidy code. Then you should connect the phone using serial cable on COM1 and run Raptor Pro. It will take few minutes and give you the unlock code. It should be the first one. After getting your unlock code, try to put it into your phone with a different SIM.

Tip Some times when a person insert a different SIM and has entered the incorrect unlock code more than few times, the phone will show “Enter Special Code, Please Wait” or “Contact Service Provider”. In this case, you need to wait up to one hour for the phone to allow you to enter the unlock code again.

Thank you for using FixYa. Have a nice day and please remember to rate this solution as FixYa if it helped you.

Subsidy code motorola i835

When you place a new or SIM card from another phone provider from the original phone contract then it asks for a Security code.
Your phone is locked to this mobile phone provider. You need to contact this mobile provider to ask for the unlock code (security code) for your phone. You need to provide proof of ownership etc and the phone's unique IMEI number which is located inside the phone under the battery. They use this number to generate the unlock code for your phone.
They should provide you with instructions on how to enter this code into the phone.
Once you unlock the phone, then you can insert a new SIM card in the phone.

My Nextel i880 says enter special code what should I do

Sound as though maybe you're trying to use a "boost" sim card on a Nextel phone. The phone has to be unlocked in order for that to work.

Motorola i205

If this phone was originally a Boost phone, it is more then likley on the IDEN network, which is exclusive to Nextel/Boost. Once the new SIM from the company other then Nextel/Boost is put in the phone, it will ask for a special code- thus rendering the phone useless on the new network. IDEN is only used by Nextel/Boost and another company out of the South called southernlinc.

My Motorola i415 is locked !

There is no actual "Special Code". The phone is programmed for one, but it won't work. If you can get to a Sprint Nextel repair center, ask them to use RSS to unlock the codeplug. Also note that many Nextel SIM cards will do this to a Boost phone.

My boost screen displays please wait to enter special code and its 8 digits

The phone is locked to your carrier. An unlock code must be entered to use the SIM of another carrier in the phone. Check with boost for an unlock code. There are also tons of unlock calculatrs out there, but be careful ... if the wrong code isentered too many times the phone will be permanently locked to boost.
