Hold the reset button in for 15 seconds , you will need a pin or paperclip , the press and hold the power on button for 5 seconds , . this did work for me but not for others , good luck

Hi,
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

SOURCE: Sound

If it is under warranty, You will have to send it off for repair,

or if not buy a set of mini torx screw drivers,
source a new speaker & replace it.

once the outer case is off, the speaker is hed on by a couple of screws & will unplug from the board.

( one of the easiest things to replace! )

Unfortunatley if it is not the speaker then pay for approved repairer to fix it... Possiblely a right off.

The circuitry is so small it is impossible to attempt any DIY.

SOURCE: Tom Tom no sound

I had a similar problem where the drums would play at the beginning but no driving sounds. I finally realized it was the FM Trasmitter. I turned it off and got my sounds back.

Menu -> Change Preferences -> Volume Preferences will allow you to change the volume. There is also a shortcut to click on the 'distance to next turn' button on the navigation screen to access the same thing.

How to adjust the volume? Volume is barely audible. Tom Tom 550TM

You can use the PREFERENCES menu option to change the volume of the voice instructions. Use 'Volume preferences' pref06.gif, with its sliding scale to set the required volume in increments of 5%.

The 'Test' function is a good way to get the volume right before starting your journey. You may also find it helpful to use 'Link volume to car speed', so that the voice instructions get louder as road noise increases and are at their quietest when you are stationary.

How do I increase the volume on my tomtom?

Tom Tom volume was once loud at max volume. Now, even saying increase volume, the volume remains very low. Even though the voice says maximum volume, the volume is unreadable at road noise.

Garmin voice command not working

I am not fimiarly with tom tom, but I do know on my garmin gps, there is a mute feature on the volume. On my mine it is on the main menu screen right after you turn it on. On yours you may have to go to a menu or something to turn the mute off.

My tom tom one has lost its voice

From the main menu tap preferences.

To change the volume, tap Volume preferences in the Preferences menu. You will probably see a little "speaker" icon with an X through it. Tap this to turn the sound back on.
To change the volume quickly while you are driving, tap the bottom left-hand section of the Driving View and move the slider.

To change the voice, tap Change Voice in the Preferences menu.

Hi - the volume on my tom tom gps is too low and i can't figure out how to turn it up

The lower left corner is usually a shortcut to access volume. Also, try going to preferences, and you can adjust volume within the audio/voices settings.

Tomtom xl 330.s wont speek street names

Yes Nickarino is right.
When I switched on my new tom tom it gave me that option to speak street names and it vanished after selected a different voice. I checked all manuals and web references in Tom Tom - none of them list it.
Like Nick said - what you need to do is swtich the voice type to SAMANTHA and it will show the option "Read Street Names Loudly". I jumped on it and said yes ..!!!
Thanks Nick !!
